I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Horizon. Unfortunately, I didn't, and that's okay.

@@QTReviews I didn't like the 1st chapter as a movie, but I can't wait to see the rest of the Horizon movies. I just feel like it would have been better as a mini series or show.

I'm also looking forward to the rest of the chapters. I hope I enjoy them more than I did the first one.

@@redrobotmonkey How are these films any different than the Lord of The Rings trilogy?? Are those better as a miniseries?? Look at Rings of Power

The only real Problem with Horizon is that it should have been a TV show. If it was episodic on a Streaming service People would be calling it the next Game of Thrones. I was struck by it's historical accuracy and can't wait to see part two and get the entire saga on Blu-ray.

Couldn't agree more. The problem with making it a movie, is people need to have seen the previous instalments to care, and even if they did, they may still forget. TV shows they can easily look up a recap video, not so easy watching a movie in theatres. I am sure they will do a recap before the next movie, but how many people will even bother watching that? Also that is almost never done for movies in theatres.

A movie of this scope could be done in a theatrical format. The problem that I had was in the execution. Making a movie is hard enough. Making a good movie is almost impossible, but it can and has been done.

Horizon was a great movie. It’s not even close to complete and I really think it’s going to pick up and do better. The dead don’t hurt was not a good movie. I love both viggo Mortensen and Kevin Costner. With that don’t hurt it’s probably the worst way I’ve seen Viggo do. It was really hard to sit through.

Movies are subjective, and I'm glad to hear you loved Horizon. I didn't love Horizon, and you didn't like The Dead Don't Hurt and that's okay. We're both entitled to feel the way we do.

The Dead Don't Hurt might of worked but it was hardly in any theaters and was gone in a blink of an eye. I wanted to see it. I just couldn't find it playing around me.

I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to watch it at the theater. Unfortunately, smaller films usually have a limited theatrical run and are not shown at every theater.

The dead don't hurt has a complete story because it's not part 1 of a 4 series saga.

Yes, that's correct.

They've already pulled Horizon out of the theaters. Flopped so bad it didn't even last a month. Bad Boys 4 with Will 'Slappy" Smith is still selling tickets 2 months later.

I think I heard the movie is doing well on VOD, but I could be wrong.

Horizon is killing it on Vod & ITunes. The problem isn't that it's a bad movie, the problem is that people don't want to leave their house to see a movie, especially a long movie. The only way you're going to get people back in theaters is for something special like a Deadpool and Wolverine movie. Also Bad Boys ride or die made just under or just over $400 Million With a $100 Million production costs which as a nice round number is rather suspicious. As a big budget movie it also means that it's Marketing was at least $150 Million. So we can safely say that it probably actually cost some where in the ball park of 300 to 350 Million to make. So it wasn't really a big hit if it was even that. Next time you pick an example of a Hit try to remember the dirty little secret of Hollywood. That due to the high costs of these movies if they don't pass the 500 million mark they don't even break even. So in reality Bad Boys wasn't a hit it was a dude as well.

@@loslobos786 Horizon opened at #1 on VOD because it was the Only new release that week. Since then, it's dropped down behind all those same movies that beat it at the box office: A Quiet Place 3, Bad Boys 4, The Fall Guy, Furiosa, Despicable Me 4 etc etc. Even if Horizon were to hit $10 million in video sales, it's Still $100 million in the negative.

Unfamiliar with Horizon but I did struggle to get through TDDH two weeks ago. Wouldn’t even have made for a decent time-killing TV movie. Poorly realized characters, bland dialogue and situations, no satisfaction at any point. Especially not the death of that cringeworthy villain; he “gets the drop” on some dummy pointing a rifle directly at him, then at the end he’s fatally wounded in similar fashion. Ooh, full circle. 🙄 Nothing worked in that lackluster, run of the mill Western. Vicky Kreps is the only one worth watching, and her character isn’t allowed to stick with one lingo nor is she fleshed-out worth a hoot. You’ll know nothing about her motivations when it’s (finally) over. Stick with Appaloosa for a far more enjoyable Viggo in a Western vehicle.

I personally liked TDDH, but I can see others not liking it as much. Vicky was the best thing about the movie.
