The ridiculous thing is that we are in a chip shortage where everything computer-related has skyrocketed in price. Yet, at the same time I have been able to dig up two perfectly functional computers in our apartment complex's recycling room. The first computer, a Core i5 4770k, 16GB DDR3, GTX760, 550W 80+ Bronze 1TB SSHD, No problem, whatsoever. Second computer: Core i3 7100, 8GB DDR4 GTX1050Ti, 500W 80+ Bronze, no HDD. Very filthy, One of the fans on the GPU seems to have started to fail (probably due to dust buildup or something), making the computer twice as loud as it should be. I bought two SSDs, and replacement fans+shroud for the GTX1050Ti (13$ on eBay)... I dismantled every component, cleaned them up. Now the computers look and feel like new. It absolutely BLOWS my mind that people are throwing away good computers like these without hesitation. Just the amount of unnecessary e-waste people cause in the west is mind blowing and gets my blood pumping. xD

Her is something I think people should be thinking about. The way Windows 11 and Apple Silicone and Ryzen work. We are starting to enter an age where some older games might not run correctly on new hardware due to the changes in architecture and instructions sets. Like when things jumped to Pentiums back in the day, then they jump to dual core computer standards. Then windows XP to 7 then to 10. Some of these older systems you may want to have one laying about to play some older games. Cause I foresee compatibility issues going forward.

Holy! I'd part those out for profit if you have no use for them other than mining, depending on prices in your area you could make a vast majority, if not all of the money for both from selling the 970, here in Ontario, Canada on the Canadian equivalent of Ebay Classifieds/Gumtree, 970's are listed for $150 CAD (about $120 USD) minimum for a working card with prices going all the way up to $400 (about $322 USD) Edit: as for the RX 460, cheapest is $175 (about $141 USD) for a 4GB followed by $200 (about $161 USD) for a 2GB with the only other listing for one on it's own being $220 (about $177 USD) for a 2GB. Therefore you could possibly make your money back easy just from selling the GPUs and profit from selling the other parts.

Videocard choice was pretty limited due to the proprietary non upgradable psu, also I remember that we used an arctic freezer 7 rev 2 cooler for the i7 and had a pretty difficult time mounting it on the mainboard, it was running quite hot with that cooler as well. Overall it's allright for the money but it's definitely somewhat limited. The stock cooler that it comes with is very bad btw, it can't cool down a cpu over 65w.

Accommodating for the limits of the 0250 Watt Power Supply, given that you mentioned that it can't even make use of a Six or Eight Pin cable (unless the unit can be upgraded from), it would be interesting to see how far this system can be pushed on the front of upgrades: Unless it's restricted by Fujistu's BIOS, I would hope that a 3770 (or its S or T variant, if not the No Suffix or K SKU) and a GTX 1650 can be put into the P700 to help bring this up to its best potential capabilities of today; support for 032 GB of DDR III is also possible on this system, so anybody who still does Web Development, Video Editing, and Broadcasting can make use of that extra headroom; many people who are still on Sandy Bridge might want to get the most out of their OEM Desktop and this would be the cheapest method for an upgrade if they don't want to build a completely new setup. Compared to my Ryzen 5 3600 the CPU is just so freakin' slow even for just browsing the web. I don't even want to think about an i3 2120. Good call on the GTX 750 because it does still receieve drivers! The GT 710 and 730 do not though, the launch driver for Windows 11 is their final driver.

I feel so spoiled with my Threadripper 1950x and R9 Fury. Was looking to upgrade to a RTX 3060 ti. Maybe one day.

I mean this is saveable, it should perfectly run older games like Need for Speed Underground 2, GTA San Andreas or generally simpler games like Stardew Valley. My Netbook struggles with these games and Stardew Valley can't even run on it and yet I somehow enjoy the barely playable experience it gives with some games, it has something magical ^^

I used to have a super low end 2015 asus laptop before, funnily enough in stardew valley whenever i tried to play it while setting my monitor refresh rate to 60hz the inventory screen would be super unresponsive and laggy, while if i set the refresh rate to 40hz the game run really stable, i played this game on my iPad and it's perform all round better than the laptop but the ui is utter trash, wish they remake it in the 1.5 update for mobile.

There's something weirdly comfy about gaming on a low-end laptop.

@@ryankrage77 Yeah, you don't have to care about optimal performance, just about playable performance 😆

I have a 2004 laptop that was given to me without working. It has decent specs for it's time and can play most games from 2001-2006 era. The problem is it is rather slow and only supports 1GB of RAM(only one slot is functioning). It can't play youtube video at more than 240p or at fullscreen. Anything newer than Windows XP is too heavy, but Windows XP is just too outdated for current apps. Still I managed to install Linux Mint 19 with Xfce DE to make it up to date and it works great, with low idle RAM usage just like XP, and it can do single tasking quite decently. Editing a document or browsing through a web page while listening to Spotify app is totally duable. So if you are the person who has a rather slow machine and doesn't know what to do with it, please for the love of god, don't throw into the trash. Someone, somewhere will find a use for it.

I got a ryzen 3 3200g with an Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X R9 290 4GB for 400 bucks off facebook just a little while ago! Runs all my games at 1080 really well :)

I just got a 3060 RTX for $300USD from Amazon... it's only slightly above MSRP but nothing ridiculous. I saw some sellers offering the for over $1000 but I just kept scrolling to like the 4th page of results and there were a few on offer for $300-400

Nice! This is pretty similar to the PC my brother is using at the moment, except it got the i3-2100 & 4GB of RAM. I wonder if you were to upgrade the CPU to a i5 like the 2400 or 2500, maybe a i7-2600, how would it perform with the 8GB of RAM & GTX 750 1GB. Edit: another possibility then would be something newer than the GTX 750, like maybe a RX 550 2GB?

I just bought an HP made RX 460 off ebay here in the USA for 90$ (68 pounds across the pond) which apparently outperforms even a GTX 750ti. It would've fit the bill as HP reduced its power and omitted any external power connections. It wouldn't have helped where the CPU was the bottleneck in these games I suppose.

A shame the case only send to accommodate its odd sized PSU and motherboard - it doesn't look half bad, and would make for an interesting sleeper PC build.
