Two days in the garage. Excavator already has 5 thousand engine hours and it's time to change the running gear. We did it in two days. We didn't just replace the top rollers, they were delayed somewhere due to delivery. The lower rolls were quite heavy, about 35kg 💪 So we needed an assistant because it was difficult to lift and insert the screws. The support plate weighs about 22 kg. One chain weighs + - 500 kg. The work was not easy, but interesting 😀

Looks like a very expensive maintenance job, but definitely got all the use possible from the old parts. A tedious, repetitive task, but as a truck mechanic myself, sometime a job such as this is actually relaxing, compared to system diagnostics. Good to see an operator taking care of his machine, too. A lot of work done in just 2 days!

All the time and effort to remove the walking gear. Should have fitted new seals to the slack adjusters. Hard job later. Set of seals 100 bucks. Could be an expensive mistake

I work for a company that manufactures excavator lower rollers in Korea. It was the first time I saw a video of repairing the lower part of a heavy machine. This is a very useful video, thank you.

For me, The worst bit of changing the tracks and components is taking it into mud for the first time and seeing all those lovely new parts getting covered in muck 😂

Great video. At our workshop we ar tought to always remove the paint of the new chain. We do that “the roughneck way” ,…. we attatch the new chain to the rear of a wheelloader and drive about 5 minutes outside of our workshop. All the fresh paint is removed and then we mount the plates back on the chain. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Holland!!

Тот случай когда ЗИЛ на ровне с Вольво стоит. Хотя, то как изготовлен экскаватор, все сделано интересно. Даже смена гусениц. Элементарное крепление. Выкрутил, поменял.

Круто! Работал я как то на hyundai r 330 у него на 4-ех опорных катках был сильный люфт. Ленивцы тоже люфтили, на ходу такой скрип стоял, как будто ультразвук по ушам бьёт! Ремонтировать организация его не хотела.

I worked out of a similar shop with a 7.5 T bridge crane so we could pull the side frame from a D8. We also had a 50T pin press so there was no sledge hammer removal or installation of track pins. I do not miss the work even a little bit.( Happily retired )

Na in solch einer Werkstatt kann man wenigstens gut arbeiten. Ich habe diese Dinge auch viele Jahre repariert. Es macht Spaß,wenn danach alles wieder funktioniert,vor allem bei älteren Maschienen. Gruß aus Germany!!
