it's a damn survival piece, not made for fashion statement. wtf

Amazon sells paracord survival bracelets similar to this with a compass. For those who are unaware of the usage or how to operate a bracelet like this. 1. The striker is designed to be pulled out and used to strike the flint rod (faras), to many people leave the striker in and try to strike it, pull striker out and strike it. You risk unraveling paracord when you continuously strike the rod with the striker in it's holder. 2. The ones that offer the small compass, the compass is a "tap top" meaning when you are in a stationary position with your compass, tap the glass to ensure that the compass is moving freely for an accurate reading. 3. The paracord can be used to make an emergency tent, fishing (yes you can buy one that comes with a fishing hook), repelling, hoisting, etc etc. 4. Has built in whistle, used for situations when you are injured/lost/communicating and need to signal for help or just signal information to another party. You can also get them with a knife, flashlight, thermometer, etc.

the striker on several is not able to taken out without damaging the striker
@theyframedme3 жыл бұрын
@@toomanyaccounts Some Chinese made and thai made paracord bracelets do not follow the patton design and manufacturing instructions. Do to poor quality the striker they put in is too wide and they heat them and press them in ny force, melting the plastic inside the striker holster. It's poor craftsmanship, the patton license rights I hold for the American made one is designed to come out, all US made ones are. Poor craftsmanship from foreign makers does not mean it's not designed to come out.
@theyframedme3 жыл бұрын
That's why i say you may need to use pliers, also some foreign makers may glue them in too.
@toomanyaccounts3 жыл бұрын
@@theyframedme if you have to use pliers then it wasn't designed to come out for user use. guess what paracord firestarter makers did design to use the striker in the cord. they show it being used that way and the paracord doesn't unravel. if your paracord unravels while using the striker then you got a shit paracord.
@toomanyaccounts3 жыл бұрын
@@theyframedme you mean patent? the patents for one paracord had the rod being removable while the actual striker is still in the bracelet. otherwise the fire starter device ie matches is in a compartment.

he is right, but don't admit it, be an ironic jerk, this is the good way to gather subscribers. well done! :)
@theyframedme3 жыл бұрын
The demonstration is incorrect, the striker is designed to be removed, then used to strike flint rod (farras), when you strike the rod while striker is still in the holster, you risk detangling the paracord.
@toomanyaccounts3 жыл бұрын
@@theyframedme the one in mine is not removable.
@theyframedme3 жыл бұрын
@@toomanyaccounts Can you post a pic or vid, I'm unaware of any model that doesn't allow it to be removed, as keeping it in place risks unraveling the paracord. You may need to use a pair of pliers to pull it out, or use it in place but risk unraveling the cord.

They also have versions that are slimmer, and they have versions with a thermometer or compass or both. I'm wanting one but I don't know what I want on it. BTW great way you wear it I've always found it so ugly and dumb how the steel was facing the outside but you've shown me that you can simply reverse it :)

Hi I purchased one these on line. Great idea but poor design. I was not expecting the world for the price I paid. It's extremely difficult to get the Sparks required without damaging the buckle in my view. If they went to a larger buckle size and allowed the Flint to slide out would greatly improve the function. Once finished you just slide the Flint back into the buckle. I would pay 3 or 4 times the price I paid if I could get a product that was really practical. I have no axe to grind with our friends in China but cheap is not always best. Does any one know if there is a product available that is superior to this product and functions well?

It's a plastic type buckle, metal scraper & striker- the cord is nylon type. So it's easy to wipe water off the metal to start a fire. The cord is still strong if it's wet. Why does it need to be waterproof?

@skate96production8 жыл бұрын
uhm no, firestarting is very very hard thing and it takes alot of practice but mostly knowledge, because even with a normal lighter you wont be able to start a fire that easily, but for this type of firestarter you need cotton OR feathersticks, and you need to build your fire up up up from the smallest sticks to the biggest pieces of wood. dont be so confident with this sparkle in your hand because with no knowledge you dont have SHIT.
