I woke up and was singing this out of the clear blue while getting ready for work this morning. Brought me back to riding in the backseat of my momma''s car as a child. Funny how these good old songs come back to you when you least expect. I had every lyric of that chorus down while dancing in the bathroom!

On this day in 1976 {November 10th} Eddie Rabbit was a guest on the syndicated television program 'The Merv Griffin Show" At the time his 'Two Dollars In the Jukebox" was at #54 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, just under nine weeks later it would peak at #3 {for 2 weeks}... Between 1974 and 1991 the Brooklyn, NY native had forty-two records on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, thirty-four made the Top 10 with seventeen* reaching #1... Two of his forty-two Top 100 records were duets and both peaked at #1, "You and I" with Crystal Gayle in 1983 and "Both to Each Other (Friends & Lovers)" with Juice Newton in 1986... Edward Thomas Rabbitt passed away at the young age of 56 on May 7th, 1998... May he R.I.P. * He just missed having twenty #1 records when three peaked at #2, "I Can't Help Myself" {1977}, "Hearts of Fire" {1978}, and "I Don't Know Where to Start" {1982}...

I think this song means . Maybe he thinks it will be different this time . When he knows deep down . It will end up the same , as it always does . He may get a little peace for a little while . Until the next morning when he wakes up with a headache , and sick as a dog . But the memories are still there . Two Dollars In The Jukebox
