@charlieplayz pecking comes from a beak that is like a chicken's or bird's, one that ends in a sharp point. Ducks can snap their beaks. Mine never hurt me but why focus on that at all. My ducks were joy.

Ducklings are always skittish and fearful, as are ducks in general. It's what keeps them alive. They are virtually defenseless animals, especially the flightless breeds. They have no teeth, and their claws are pretty useless. Being quick to run away, and being able to run away quickly (while pocketing mass quantities of food in their esophagus) are the duck's survival superpowers. When I see videos of a person's duck chillin on its back getting a belly rub, I'm just like... what the hell is wrong with that duck?? 😆 That said, there IS big difference when you hand raise ducklings. They become very attached to you. Ducks are very social and curious and interactive. They love to run up and see what you have and nibble at your shoestrings. If you sit on the ground they will climb in your lap. You just have to interact with them on their terms and remember that they're ducks, not dogs or cats.

That was so Cute my Android Samsung Galaxy was smoking....I am going to need to get another phone!!! J/K ....this is so pure and cute, I've always loved Duck's since I was a tot. I even love the Geese, when I was little my Grandmother took me to our local city park....I went up to try and pet a line Goose....the Goose was bigger than I was...maybe it was a Swan, it was 36 years ago. How ever that Goose or Swan pecked me in the butt and chased me pretty far, but I was a fast runner, lol. Looking back it was funny. The Duck's use to use my yard as a shortcut to Waddle to the park, this was in '93, they would come up to the fence gate quacking, I opened both fence gates so they could Waddle through. The gates were opened a lot so they could get around, and go to the very large pond with a huge fountain in the middle. They were so cute, they melted my heart. Duck's are the Best!!!

In the first Molly and Scoot livestream, I'm pretty sure he said the older ducks only really eat peas and bird seeds.

Ducks are omnivores. They'll eat just about anything. Bread is bad for them though. Our ducks are spoiled. We have to be careful not to give them too many peas or they won't eat their duck food. "What is this swill?? Get thee to the freezer and bring us something delicious!"

They love nibbling on toes and fingers. Be very conscious about your eyes. If you see them intently looking at your eye, redirect their attention or gently move them away from your face. It seems to be a curiosity boop. It's very painful. I've only had it happen once and ever since I can tell when a duckling is looking at my eye.
