After you obtain cobblestone, pick up the water with the bucket, use it to make a platform a few blocks below the sand. Place the water on the path, and while swimming build a pillar from under the path. Then start to make a plataform from the lowest block of the pillar. After you got a base started, pick up the water, then proceed with the plataform, just make sure it DOESN'T touch the bottom sand until you complete the base/floor under it.

Tips: - Use a waterfall to build underneath your bridge and create a platform underneath the sand. - In the nether you cant place water so you would need to jump down while holding only some blocks (because you will die) and try to place blocks underneath your portal to go down. So you can also create a platform underneath glowstone. (slow falling potion would help in this situation)

Sand is a gravity affected block meaning it falls when you change the blocks around it, so to catch it you need to build a platform below it. To do that you can use the water; place it near the edge and you can swim up and down, place a block under the block you need it under and you can build down. (doesn't work in the nether) Also: the water has a chance of turning into ice since the skyblock biome is cold, to prevent this place a source of light, like a torch, next to it.

What jacked up the portal system is they wanted you to take the obsidian back to your spawn island. The reason it was so far away in the nether is because 1 block distance in the nether is 3 in the overworld. Also continue to farm cobblestone to make a lower bridge over to the island where the 2nd chest is. You can go lower by taking the water source block and put it on a block on the edge of the island or on a block of the pre-existing bridge. Then it will flow off allowing you to go up and down the flowing water. While you have to go back and forth between holding space and letting off to stay roughly the same height or y level, build a pillar going down off the bottom blocks of your main island. Then you can build another bridge lower so it can catch the sand so you can start a cactus farm. Hope this helps, marcel and scott!!

Try building a platform 3 blocks under the sand island so that physics isnt applied to it yet so once its big enough to hold all the sand you can then mine it with the platform to catch it after the sand falls from physics. Thereforenone of it is wasted.

Here’s a tip, when creating long pathways using cobblestone, use Cobblestone slabs. It doubles the distance using less material.

Put a fence at the bottom of the cobblestone generator in the place the water falls into. You can stand on it and the generator will work. You’ll be able to stand against the cobblestone and grab it better
