I was once in a similar position to Mr. Meister. Before my record was cleared, it was nearly impossible to find work. I put in over 150 job applications and I went for a year and a half without a job, despite looking the entire time. I applied everywhere. Even convenience stores and fast food places do background checks now. That is something that does need to be fixed within our society. The people who want to do right and change their way of living should have the ability to do so. Some felony charges do not even carry prison time, but they make it nearly impossible to find work for the rest of the person's life. A charge that carries a year or two of probation affects that person for the rest of their life. This is a big part of the recidivism rate in the US. I firmly believe that all one time offenders without violent or sexual offense should have that removed from their record after a defined period of time without further offenses. A minor felony should not be a life sentence.

I've been watching your newest videos, and I greatly appreciate the narrative you include that goes along with the video. Sometimes they're hard to hear/follow, and the information you include is extremely helpful. Also, your videos aren't super douche-y like other courtroom channels. You don't do skin-crawling commentary or film yourself on a soapbox or stand before the camera in your best 2003 outfits like Court with Krissy does 😂 Krissy gets a HARD PASS and a big fat NOPE 😂 we really like your channel. It's one of our favorites and we watch it above and before anyone else's channel. ❤ the follow-ups are awesome, too! You just do a really good job with courtroom videos. Thanks!

@LoneWolfUsul that's exactly why I left you the feedback! I could tell you were actually putting in time and effort to get the facts straight, and its very helpful!! So I wanted you to know that what you're doing is spot on. The other channels are so obnoxious and some of those people just like to hear themselves talk gibberish, I swear. I also like how you keep up with Judge Webster and Ricky (or however it's spelled) in Kansas. I live 25mins north of her courtroom and I think it's so cool to see what they're doing in such a teeny tiny town in Greenwood County. :)

In the second case the victim, who worked in the mental health field, hasn’t been able to get her sh!t together in over seven years since she was victimized, and wants the defendant to pay for the rest of his life for a crime he committed while in the throes of his own mental health crisis. But if I heard correctly, she’s so messed up, still, that she’s having a baby. Kudos to him for doing everything he was ordered, completing probation, keeping his nose clean, and wanting to get back to work and stop living off the government. Vindictiveness is so petty and reflects so poorly on the person objecting to the expungement.
@mikeradu20109 күн бұрын
Well said 👍 I would like to add that, in my opinion, it doesn’t matter if he was having a mental health crisis or not at that time 7 years ago. He deserves to have this expunged from the public eye and he will still be prevented from ever owning a firearm and, if he commits a crime in the future, any court will be able to see this case from 7 years ago. Also, she isn’t suffering any physical ailments from the incident, just mental. Sounds like she should be in the institution, not working for one.

In case 2, the judge at one point mistakenly refers to the victim as "the defendant". He had previously suggested that her working at the psychiatric hospital where the offense occurred means she should have some empathy for the offender. He also talks a lot about the things he can't consider but is sort of considering them anyway. Expungement might be appropriate, I don't know, but he really threw that victim under the bus unnecessarily. He really mishandled it.
@mikeradu20108 күн бұрын
Threw her under the bus? 🙄 He recognizes that she’s just being petty and may have some mental health issues of her own if she can’t get over this 7 years later 😂 Some people 🤦♂️ She certainly shouldn’t be working in mental health if she can’t get her mental “trauma” in check from 7 years ago which left her with no physical ailments from the incident.
