Zamak used to be known as Mazak. Same alloy but the manufacturer changed the name. Maybe due to trademark conflicts with Mazak CNC machines. Older style car door handles and hood trims were made of the stuff. You could break them in half and melt the alloy out of the chrome plated shell. It certainly made a nice shiny casting.

Looks like a couple of the spokes didn't quite fill out? Think that was from venting not being perfect?

It doesnt seem like you need to vent the mold Harold. I was thinking it would need one.

good job. i have pored 100 of pounds of that and it amazing stuff. you mite try smoking you moulds it will make the zink flow better. thanks for the great job you do on the videos.

Someone gave me a sword made out of Zamac, Couldn't see any use for it so I gave it to someone else... If I'd a known it casts that good, I would have hung on to it...
