This is a carry update on the Briarpatch Jack and a comparison with a similar knife, the Rough Ryder Reserve TearJerk.

The Tearjerk came out a while ago. To me it was a great knife that never seemed to get any attention. It is one of the best if not the best knife in the RRR series, but then again I like 2 bladed knives.

They are both about equal. It just depends on what blade shape you prefer. For me that can vary by the day with what I will be doing.

I love both knives. They are very practical ones to carry. Dare I say that they rival a Stockman or a Trapper in usefulness 🫢

These are two very useful knives for me at work. I have been carrying the Briarpatch a lot and it is becoming one of my favorites. I love the knife!

It's good to hear someone else besides myself likes the Tear Jerk Most criticize the knife for one reason or another , I can overlook the shield offset and the no purpose easy open cutout . They're 2 of my favorite blades done right although I would rather have 1095 and bone covers .

I never got why they put the EZ open on the side of the tearjerk. At least they could have lined u the cutout with the nail nick to make it seem useful. It doesn't bother me though, it is a very good knife. I would be just as happy with either the tearjerk or the briarpatch.

I'm in no hurry I'll wait a year or so for the RoseCraft to drop in price or catch a sale like I have with the other RC knives .
