There not made for off roads, it's just a AWD suv crossover with gnarly tires. It's like ice cream and sausage, it just doesn't work together mate

@@josephmcgahee7302bs mate. I have had 2x 80series and 2x gu patrols, driving 90k km pa surveying all over central Oz and the NT - all of it in all seasons. Now I drive a Territory and it works just fine. The worst cars on the road are 4 cab utes, that shake like a mofo over corregarions. Come back when you have a clue.

Nice tracks! Looked like it was quite slippery out there. Well done though, the Territory's did really well.
@TerritoryOffroad6 ай бұрын
It was a bit slippery this time. I done it a few months ago after it reopened and to me seemed a lot wetter then in the way of water around but still dry if that makes sense. This time it seems the ground had soaked up all the water. Didn't do the full track or the really bad part's. Just had some good old fun.

I respect Daniel for not treating your car like he stole it. It Just seems to be the nature of the Territory.. Some parts.. It makes it look easy... and then Others.. It struggles bad. Define Broken Steering rack...as it seems to turn the wheels just fine.. Oh Yeah... SY has a Brake light out.
@TerritoryOffroad6 ай бұрын
Haha yeah we have the Daniel send saying as a inside joke. I was the one saying a few times send it a bit harder. I will admit I'd be taking it easy also if it wasn't my car. I'm lucky in the fact that if something got broken I've got more then enough spare parts to fix it. For the broken steering rack it's the seals and for lack of a better way to say it the shaft guides. You can grab the wheel and shake it about. I know I'm pushing my luck waiting for it to possibly jam up. The reason they don't last long is due to bump steer issues from the lift. I've got a idea to fix it just trying to find the motivation and time. LOL yeah I've been meaning to put a new bulb in. It's a territory thing. We had a meet up before going into all ford day and I was last in line. 4 out of 7 territory's had a brake light out. Made me laugh.

Do you have added protection for your transfer cases? On my Sz Mk2 Territory it looks like the lowest point that would be the first thing destroyed by a protruding rock.
@TerritoryOffroad6 ай бұрын
I run the factory option bash plate on both car's. It's quite large and covers from the front all the way back past the transfer. I personally can't fault them in anyway. On the SX I did add a extra stainless plate right at the front. Downside is I've never seen a factory one for SZ. If handy on the tools I wouldn't think it would be hard to make one from the older models fit.

How do I convert my territory like this? I'm in Auckland
@TerritoryOffroad5 ай бұрын
You can do it simple and cheap like the SY or spend a lot and do it like the SX. Part's will be a bit harder to get in NZ

Do you have a tru track in the back or is it unlocked
@TerritoryOffroad4 ай бұрын
Both are still standard open diffs. Will upgrade at some point but lokka rear instead of the turetrac. They still get very far for what they are.
