In this tutorial I show my approach to designing a spider web in Fusion 360. This is inspired by Printables user Dsk001 and is one element of his Spider Bowl that can be found here: www.printables.com/model/4412...

Yes.... I like the idea of showing how different projects are created. Most of my designs are dimensional/usable things. But, I do struggle with the sculpting way of creation. As an example, I wanted to create a candle flame of sorts to use for my lighting project....it was tough...

Just showing my support for this becoming a regular series. Looking at how to approach specific models is really useful. In particular, going through the ways you considered doing it before you hit upon the best way was really helpful.

I've seen this guy use fusion to make fixturing for welded frames on his RC cars. It'd be interesting to explore both the tube frame modeling and how he may be making the fixtures. Harley Designs is the channel BTW

SO MUCH YES IN THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!! i had such a hard time making a emboss on a cup shape form and had to do extra steps to essentially dig in the lettering based on the general curve, this opens up much much faster embossing and anything of the like of texturing!!!!!!!!

This a great idea, I just discovered your channel and. It’s a great idea to replicate others designs so one has real life examples of design problems and how to tackle them. I just subscribed just because of this series. Thank you 😊

Awesome stuff. I've had a couple occasions where I needed to do something like this and struggled with it.

Great video! Do you happen to have a tutorial on making the object seen at 1:47 in the video? The part where the top is open and the object is a shell interests me, but anything you have on that type of creation. Enjoy your channel!

I would have just extruded it through the surface then revolve cut it to match the surface at the desired thickness.

That would work if I was simply trying to extrude a closed profile but in this case I wanted to extrude the sketch lines. Thin Extrude didn't work for selecting multiple lines at once and the standard Pipe tool had similar issues. That's why I had to resort to using the Project to Surface tool along with the Pipe tool in the Sculpting Environment.

@@DesktopMakes I **think** you can extrude lines, then thicken in the surface environment? also extrude>from object At least those are the first things id try, idk if they would actually work the way you'd want.

I believe the problem with the solid pipe is when three lines meet at one point. If you do the rings and radii separate - *Are you sure the Solid Pipe will not work?*
