I am admitting that I can't cut a straight line. Nor can I hang a picture frame reliably. The 2 of you, cutting perfectly square and symmetrical rectangles using 1 tool and eyeballing the measurements was fascinating to watch. You have some crazy skills, and it was an honor watching this.

This really is amazing what they are doing with their hard work! There are quite a few videos on KZbin digging these underground "projects" and I really admire the ingenuity that is involved to get it done. After it is all done, I wonder if it will still be used for anything. You can watch this and get some feel for what ancient cavillation's were able to do without all the modern equipment!!

@Alice-jh4xd4 жыл бұрын
I don't really see how what she said was salty or in anyway unkind. It's a good question, especially considering the environmental impact of digging into these environments. Sustainability needs to be a consideration for all of us. And that does not in any way detract from the talent displayed here. But I see these as exploitative. Someone is filming this to make money off the creation of unsustainable building that changes the landscape and in no way benefits the eco system. More and more of these videos are popping up and I question the sustainability of it all. It's not about digging for community need and living, but tearing into land resources and natural systems for entertainment and profit while those structures have no lasting value. There is an environmental impact here and if you aren't willing to see that, that's problematic. How long did it take nature to build these systems naturally to maintain a balance in the ecosystem? Animals, insects, and elements working together to have it destroyed by people doing this work not as a means for survival building-living but to exploit the land for entertainment value. How many more people will do this until there is a crisis as a result?

loving how clean their clothes are even while supposedly digging all day. Its almost as if other people are doing the work and they jump in to do a few minutes of digging then jump out, letting a crew continue
@cs_fl50483 жыл бұрын
Actually, you can see the relatively impervious dry clay soil isn't dusty, so once past the first few inches of dry dust, the there isn't as much the dirt tends not to dust but to fall. Further, if you watch enough videos you will see that they do bathe in their clothes often when they go to fetch water or catch food. It serves a dual purpose of cleaning and cooling as the water evaporates. This is a normal activity for them. What they don't really show is that some of these projects take many days - often 6 weeks to finish. What they do can be done just as you see it, but for the time lapses.

At first, I thought obviously, How AMAZING ! Then I thought who taught them? Then I thought, are they doing this because they want to? What if they were bred, and forced by some authoritarian constituency? I truly hope that that is not the case. This work is exceptional, I have been a builder all my life and I know that the way they are working is as if they have done it all their lives, from a young age. Who is going to inhabit these dwellings? Where is the wheelbarrow? Gloves maybe? I do love the simplicity of the lifestyle, and the ornate decoration, it reminds me of something ancient. I would like to see the actual timeline and how those natural dyes are made. Also, where is this? Cambodia? Please post answers if you know. Love and respect to these builders! (regardless of sex).
