Good point. On the other hand, aiming for the center gives the greatest margin of error. OK, you covered that.

I agree. Aiming for the center does give the greatest margin for error. More advanced shooter's do both. Aim for the center and for right or left sides of various plates when it makes sense to do so. For me, I try to pick my spot on the first plate and the stop plate. When I train I shoot at 70% speed or less to train myself to put the firearm in specific places to hit targets where I want to. The theory being that at 100% speed muscle memory takes over and puts the hits where I practiced them. My problem lately is I haven't been training as much as I like to. But that is going to change!!!

Definitely an advanced technique for sure. Iam just happy hitting the plate😉. I heard Foster talk about your hits on the plates telling a story. If groups too small you should pick up the pace (wish I had that “problem”). I am at the stage trying to get sub 2s in matches. Not an issue when practicing but fear the dreaded miss, so stay under the “edge”. SC is very addicting, when you go up a class and reach a goal, next goal pops up immediately! Enjoy the “free range” shooting👍👍👍

So So true! But thats what makes it so addictive. There's always a goal dangling just out of your reach. You have to work to earn it!!! Dont fear the miss. Learn how to call your shot and master the make up shot when needed. We all miss. If you can do it in an honest practice you have an opportunity to nail kit in a match too. Try going faster and faster each string. See if that helps. Remember 90% of competing is mental. Shoot with confidence! Good luck, Terry

I shot a match today at OK Corral. If you have access to Practiscore.com check out the June 5th Steel Challenge match there. Look at my Smoke and Hope time today. I had three Mikes!!! One a throw away but I had to eat 6 seconds on the other two. 15 plus seconds on Smoke and Hope!!!! I was sick to my stomach and so mad at myself. A serious mental brake down. Uhhhhh!!!! Now, go look at who won the match..... you guessed it (or maybe you didn't) but I did!!! I walked away from Smoke & Hope and after feeling sorry for myself, my short memory kicked in and I told myself Im going to win this match anyway and I did with a 79. BELIEVE!!! Terry

@@TwoGunTerry nice 7,21 on Showdown👍. Love your videos and thanks for the tips. Our match in Tulsa was cxl’d due to thunderstorms. I really wanted another match with Outer limits, my current nemesis. Watched both your vids on OL but that 1st shot after movement is killing me! Gotta settle that dot down👍
