Thanks for publishing your interpretation! As you said, many things are open to just interpretation and Marozzo wasn't the clearest of writers... ^^ That said, I would like to discuss two things with you: "tu falaci de uno falso impuntato" How do you adress the verb falaci in your Interpretation? Swanger translates it with a disengage which is the more common version. And for the last bit "tirerai de uno falso dritto de sotto insuso per le mane del nimico" how does your falso dritto attack your opponent's hands? :) Thanks and have a nice stay in Italy!

Hi! Thanks for the comment and the questions! :) So... (Everything I will state here is based on the print from 1536. I don’t know what source Swanger had access to or if he maybe used the 1568 version...?) "tu falaci de uno falso impuntato" The print is not clear here, so is it falaci or fasaci? Judging from the font and the rest of the book I think "s" is more plausible. So I always read it as fasaci and understand it as a verb derived from fare [= do]. So simply: Do a falso impuntato. "tirerai de uno falso dritto de sotto insuso per le mane del nimico" One of the “hot” parts that causes headache again and again -_-" Execution in the video far from perfect - unfortunately, I completely forgot that I had to go for the hands here - thanks for the input! Put that aside, the dilemma until now for us: The moment you drop the tip to attack his hands too vertically from below (and depending on how he attacks that is the only angle to get to them) you are open and have the opponent’s point in front of you. That’s why for now I would stick to a more horizontal dritto blow without dropping the tip and in case of doubt go for the blade and take the “per le mane” as a rough direction - depending on the opponent’s position sometimes you get the hand, sometimes not. Maybe we will find the type of attack/ position where you can safely go to the hands without getting stabbed into the face… Further experimentation is required for sure! :) What’s your experience with this last part?

@@MarozzolostinVienna I think Jherek took both versions into consideration, but I'll check and get back to you in a couple of weeks once I am home again^^ Considering the falso dritto... yup, it's certainly tricky. I've seen it with circular motions both clockwise and counter clockwise as well as derivations of a Twerhau. All are situational. In my personal experience distance plays the major role in not getting hit in the head while still reaching the arms. Marozzo describes the falso later with the left leg still in the air while it travels behind the right. That kind of indicates the energy required while going back.
