Two HUGE hidden waterfalls on the Brecon Beacons Elidir Trail

A short hike to two stunning waterfalls (Sgwd Gwladys and Sgwd Eigion Gam) in the Brecon Beacons Waterfall Country for a wild swim.
This hike follows a river through the woodlands of the Brecon Beacons National Park to find two tall waterfalls. The first is very popular in summer and you may find you have lots of other people present, but the second is lesser-known and often totally private. I was alone for long enough to take a skinny dip when I got there on this late May afternoon.
If you visit, please take care on the slippy rocks, take all your rubbish home with you, and make sure you use the public toilets at the start because there isn’t anywhere else along the trail.

I was genuinely starting to think that thumbnail was clickbait, and thought for a second those boys were with YOU, but I'm glad you actually got to strip down, and feel the water and fresh air on your body if even just for a few minutes. It's extremely relaxing and therapeutic. :)

Definitely one of my favourite local waterfalls. Great walk and video 😍 Try Melyn Cwrt falls as it's usually deserted at this time of year. There's a few pools for a nice dip 😊

@@elventuresuk - yeah, maybe. Most of those I can think of are not very convenient. I think the vast majority of people aren't in the least bothered if someone else wants to skinny-dip. It's just a tiny minority who would cause such a commotion that it's better to be out of the way.

​@@nellybootI've seen people skinny dipping in more public wild swimming spots and nobody usually has anything to say. Not brave enough myself, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it (it's all context when it comes to nudity, imo)

Yeah, I wish people weren't so prudish about it. Europeans don't seem as prudish about it as Americans. If I walked up on someone skinny dipping or hiking naked, I wouldn't be bothered. Heck, I might even join them. :p But it's certainly not something you should get the authorities involved over.

I agree, it's funner with another person and makes it less awkward if you get caught. And I know, having to be quick for fear of getting caught ruins the fun. Maybe try a nude beach, or somewhere where it's legal

We used to have bears, wolves, and all sorts!! Bears haven't been here for 10000 years but we had wolves until about 1500AD

Be warned those waterfalls and the currents are quite dangerous, several wild swimmers have drowned there in the past couple of years 😢
