Episode 2 of our Wheel of Character duels in Yu-Gi-Oh! gives us the dream match up of Yami Bakura vs Grandpa Muto! EXODIA, OBLITERATE!!

In case you're new here, every duel in Season 1 of this will be from Duelist Kingdom. When we finish all the duels, we will then move on to Battle City and then beyond. This is mostly for balance purposes. So any questions like "WHY ISNT X USING THIS CARD", that means it's coming later. Every deck in this series will be based on what they played (or would've played) in that part of the show.

Bakuras voice in the sub is sooo good. Instead of that deep evil voice they do in the dub for so many, he just sounds so maniacal expecially when he laughs in the sub. The battle city deck he used was just so different and so cool when it first appeared. Dark sanctuary was such a cool field spell.

Bakura’s Destiny Board deck is so iconic that I legit forgot he had a completely different deck in the Duelist Kingdom arc 😅 But I do recall that he Man-Eater Bugged a person which was fucken bizarre Doto really just nonchalantly summoned the protagonist and antagonist boss monsters. Too bad he exploded for it

When Doto activated Brain control to steal Muka muka, I was like "omg he will set soul release, get muka muka to 1200, crash into Rhyme's other monster and get rid of both. Thats genius". Then Doto proceeded to just attack without setting it. Man even said "I thought I had less cards in my hand"... He really just came up with that good idea, but didnt realize he can set his card.

For anyone interested mind control works great if you have an extra deck. In old school Yu-Gi-Oh you can use to steal an on field fusion material you need,provided you have the other material(s) and polymerization in your hand. In modern Yu-Gi-Oh it allows you to quickly fusion, synchro, xyz or link summon depending on what you take from your opponent when using mind control.

So being a Bakura expert, since I literally was compared to him in high school because of my love of fiends and my little act of having super natural power ,when actually reading people's faces was WAY more easy than they realized, I have to tell you the reason Bakura has so many random cards in Duelist Kingdom is twofold: 1: He is possessing Bakura and hasn't put any resources together to make a new deck but also 2: Every spell and monster can be called into the real world by his Mileinium Ring and he does this against Pegsus' goons with Chain Energy and Just Deserts I do believe? Might have been traphole but either way he shows off how being even in the early days Shadow Magic was hella dangerous in the hands of depowered Zorc. He also was more interested in the Eye than the prixze money s why bring a deck of really good stuiff. When we see him in Battle City we don't get to see his deck again until after he and Marik have made a secret alliance and we see a much more themed deck and win con in Destiny Board. Presumably he took this cards from Marik's stash/and or acquired them to try and get in the top ten so he could be near the Puzzle and Rod since he didn't care about the title of King of Games. He's fucking Zorc! All he cares about is releasing his true self and spreading evil. Which is what makes it awesome that you used Chain Energy to beat Dato. XD Shadow Magic OP!
