Old video, but still applicable. I would go with some way to make the wheel plates removeable. I only use my cutter for trim and small fields for cutting grass. The rest is heavy brush, saplings. Grass cutting is only 2-3 times a year so no issue with bolting up or pinning of some sort. Shocked you are using a cutter with an non-enclosed cab. Hope you are safe out there.

I like what you did!! They need something to keep them off the skids. Skids are not meant to run on the ground, they are meant to keep the blades from running into the ground. That's why they put wheels on three point mowers. Even riding lawn mowers have wheels to protect the skid surface of the mower deck... Great set up! Thanks for the video!!

I like what you did with the wheels but did you have to install swivel wheels couldn't they just be fixed so that they don't rotate?

I watched you video to help on my use of the CID extreme. I cut a lot of big trees as seen on my channel. I find that this really does not mow very well with the lower RPM. Agree on difficult holding the deck at a cutting height.

I would be concerned about the locations of the grease fittings. They are going to catch on sticks and limbs and rip them off. Backside location would be a better. I know hindsight is 20-20 lol.

Hey crazydoug66 Great Idea and I just got my wheels today. I have the same mower and going to add the same wheels you did. Did you block the mower up any to get the wheel height measurement? Do you have any measurements on this install? Thanks Gary

Hey Crazy Doug - very good vid. I, too, have a cid. Same problems as yours. To keep from repeating all the measurements and sourcing a wheel kit, can you post the specs on this ? thanks - toolman

hey crazydoug66, great vid - I agree with your assessments. I have the same mower. Called cid , and they said the reason they did not supply a front wheel or roller is that many of their customer like to "dig in" the front blade to cut tress off flush with the ground. For regular moving, it needs wheels. My question is this - where did you get the wheels? Did you cad draw or do you have design measurements? If so, would you share- if not, i'll be doing the same measuring that you did. Thanks for sharing.

I have been looking for exactly such a mod but cannot find one anywhere. What we are looking at here is a money making opportunity for some enterprising person.

We offer wheels now the reason it was never done so is fear of people breaking them off on trees and running over them with the blade holder

Easy enough to put a guard to protect the wheels if they thought it was an issue.

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin what guard is going to stop them from getting broken if they won't flip up and on to the deck big brush will just rip them off and they'll end up in your deck I pick up and turn or back up

@@jwhitley101whitleyfarms9 given the heavier material he used for the mounts, it wouldn't be too hard to use heavier Stuff for a guard. Engineer would spec 10ga... I'd use half or better 😎 Lifting to turn is always a good idea!!! I've probably repaired a few hundred mowers because people think they can back up into the brush at ten miles an hour... The mower I happen to use is a 14' behind a 160 horse tractor... Always creep into the brush!! It's got 4 wheels on a chunk of square tube... That's what lifts it. Never messed it up 😎 For some people, it wouldn't matter how stout things are ..lol

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin yes I have a rhino HD with the giant gear boxes anything I run over it will cut but the reason I use my skidsteer mower is I don't want the tractor windows knocked out
