Oh my goodness. I totally love budgies. Such a joy to watch these two play and interact. They can be so pesty towards each other especially the confident talkers. My talker used to get in my Indian Ringneck Parakeets face like that and tell her she was such a messy bird. Then he called her a dumb ass bird. I swear I only said it to her onr time and my budgie heard me. They don't forget!

@@frankpetersen6624 he was a hoot he spoke in Context, knew which phrase to use and when! I taught him to say, "So? What's your point?" In a careful and matter of fact tone. I used it when he was busy playing with his toys and yacking away with a whole bunch of different words and phrases that he knew, while interchanging words in here and there. When he was real busy like that I would just watch him quietly until he noticed me staring at him and he would stop everything suddenly, in silence. Then I would say it. "So? What's your point?" He picked up on it fast and he was eager to try it out on me or whoever first chance he got. Fast forward a couple weeks. A friend stopped by and Beaky was doing his thing playing and chatting non stop while I was busy in conversation with my friend. Then she noticed. She says OMG that little Budgie is talking! So she gets closer to his cage to take a listen 🎶 🤔 when he realized he was being watched he stopped playing. Silence. My friend says to him directly. "Oh my God you can talk! And so clearly too. " he takes a couple of hops closer to her, tilts his head and Blurts out, "So? What's your point?" I saw her face flush and she asked me. Did he really ask me what was my point? I couldn't hold it in any longer and just roared. We both laughed so hard we were doubled over and had tears. My little Beaky was one heck of a great bird. Not a day went by that he didn't make me laugh. I could tell Beaky stories for hours. I miss my best bird. My new budgie is just not as interested in interacting with me and he is much more shy.

Miss our bluey obviously just like the 1 on the left , we rescued her She was attacked by a cat and unfortunately, lost an eye .She had a great 5 yrs with us , spoilt wrotten and given freedom of the living room to fly around .She would perch on her cage roof , and fly down and groom my Mrs hair .Loved her dearly.

I've read that green budgies are more talkative than blue ones. This video seems to confirm this.

There’s no genetic basis for that.

The only reason our blue one is less talkative is because we got him three years after the green one, and the blue one is not bonded to us quite as much.

Hey! I saw on your youtube channel that you have the MO2 vision cage for Kiwi and Pixel. I am thinking of getting a second budgie. Diego(my budgie) is currently in the MO1 but I was wondering if the MO2 would be an okay size for 2 budgie’s?

It'll probably be fine but honestly budgies like horizontal cages more than they do vertical cages. They'll spend most of their lives on the top 1/3 of the cage. I do recommend the L01 bird cage for two birds.

If you're feeding them seeds + veggies or pellets + veggies, then no. Longer answer: You can supplement their nutrition with vitamins when they're molting if you want, but I'm not sure how effective it is.

We've had Kiwi since he was 2 months old, also hand-raised. We got Pixel 3 years later. Kiwi still learns new phrases. You just keep having to talk to him.
