Good catches. Always find it pretty neat seeing trains going through a diversion into and out of a siding! Also, the excitement whenever you get done filming one train only to have another one coming right there is indescribable!

Thank you anscrailfanner6812! It is cool watching them take the siding! I was expecting the other train, knowing the other one was in the siding for it, but thought I would have a little more time before it came. When the first train stopped, I could hear the throb of the engines of the approaching train! Thaks for watching my friend!

Awesome video Dave nice catches. The first meet sure seemed close about the time the first grainer cleared the switch and came to a stop the second was barreling down on you. Thanks again 👍
@PacificNWRailfanКүн бұрын
Thank you Tucker! Yea, that meet was timed pretty close, the first train had just cleared the east end turnout as the second one was rounding the corner at the west end! Thanks for watching my friend!

Why would the empty pass and the loaded trains go in the hole? considering the weight differential and the amount of fuel and energy needed to stop and re-start, wouldn't it make more sense for the empty guys to go in the hole? or is it a matter of scheduling? anyway, great video. thanks for posting it.
@PacificNWRailfan2 күн бұрын
Thank you Jim! It would make more sense to have the empties go in the hole but I think a lot of it has to do with timing of the trains. If you notice, both loaded trains were almost stopped before the empties showed up. I've see them put Z trains in the hole to wait for an empty train to pass, and Z trains are the high priority trains! Thanks for watching my friend!

GREAT VIDEO but question, why are there big boards over that switch?
@PacificNWRailfanКүн бұрын
Thank you keegansvids! It's to keep the snow and ice out. They are electrically heated turnouts and it also helps to keep the heat in place. Thanks for watching my friend!
