Two Met police officers under criminal investigation for sending photos of murdered sisters

Two Metropolitan police officers have been arrested over serious allegations of misconduct in public office in connection with a homicide investigation of two women in north-west London. (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
Nicole Smallman and Bibaa Henry were murdered a fortnight ago in Fryent Country Park. Channel 4 News understands that the officers involved shared inappropriate photographs taken at the scene using an online messaging group. The Independent Office for Police Conduct is also investigating how officers handled calls to police to report the two women missing.

I don’t know how insensitive anybody could be so insensitive to take selfies with dead bodies. It is really beyond belief, and for the police to have done this is beyond disgusting. If the allegations are proven, then not only should those police officers be dismissed, then they also go to prison. A Met cop who gave his name as “Gibb” came to my house and told me that if I kept complaining about a man who was stalking me, I would be arrested - because I was intimidating my stalker! A family member pleaded with the two Policemen to be allowed to see the women and grieve at their side, he was told that the "crime scene" could not be disturbed and that the Police are doing everything possible to be respectful and caring to women's dignity in death, it was after he had been turned away that the officers themselves, entered and trampled on the crime scene, and took the photos, took the women's "dignity in death" and as a lark, sent the "selfies" with the women's bodies to others, who, because of their lack of protest, identified themselves as included in this DISGUSTING act.

I am very sorry and appalled at the lack of actions on the part of the Met. I am devastated by the Police officers decision to “play” with their dam phones,at such a terrible scene and terrible time. From personal experience, there are far less dangerous police officers around these days, from when I was a (white) teenager back in the early to mid 70's.These times simply don't compare to those dark unregulated days, when they had the 'freedom' to assault and arrest anyone they took a dislike to on a northern city street, and i'm sure it was the same the entire length and breadth of England in those days.

often when people complain about the conduct of police officers it's investigated by other members of the police.... which somehow isn't seen as a conflict of interest in this country as it is in some others. When stories like this actually make it to the news they have to have REALLY messed up. I like Dawn Butler but she jumps the gun on a number of issues here, and uses the event to peddle the whinge of structural racism. For a start the cops can’t immediately start running around looking for missing people based on initial reports - they’d get so many timewasting fake calls they’d be overwhelmed. Secondly we don’t yet know whether the photos were “disrespectful” - perhaps the cops had a reason for the group (we use it in my work, very effective way of establishing temporary teams to deal with short term jobs), and perhaps a picture of oneself at the crime scene counts as documentary evidence of the officer attending the crime. Imagine how many cops have attended crime scenes only to have their report challenged at a later date ? Quick snap, send to all. Butler has not asked herself any of these questions. Rather, she has assumed malicious racism used the event to promote her political belief in structural racism, and C4 has given her a platform to do so, and presented it as news. The only conclusion we can draw from her comments are that she is prejudiced.

We had a police force in north of Ireland for decades (called royal Ulster constabulary RUC) they were involved in numerous murders of catholic civilians.when people tried to change things they were labelled as terroist sympathisers.i fear black people in uk have the same situation to handle with black lives matter .change will come in time (north of Ireland improved but not perfect yet ).
