Two Minute Tip - Pastry Blenders explained

What does it mean when my recipe says to use a pastry blender? A pastry blender is a tool that helps cut in the butter (or other kind of fat) into your dry ingredients. The results is a crumbly mixture. If you don't have one, you can always substitute using a food processor, butter knives, a couple of forks, even a cheese grater when you freeze the butter, then working it into the dry ingredients. The outcome should be a nice crumbly texture for your recipe.
