Our Thanks must go to the citizens of Leper (Ypres) for continuing this act of remembrance. If nothing else then it must remind us of the futility of so many young lost lives . We will remember them

With a tear in our eye and our hands on our hearts, We remember the men sent to foreign parts. They picked up the guns and fought in a war, In a land were killing and violence was law. They did this with honour, carried their flag with great pride, In the dug outs and trench’s where the enemy lied. Our men so immortal now burned in or hearts, We still pray should return from those foreign parts. PJT 2010

my great grandfather was a major in the scottish highlanders division he was killed in the 1944 normandy invasion during the d-day landings he died commanding his troops to this day my grandfather still weeps about his passing and how on his grave it says he died for britain and not for scotland so he prity much died for england which really annoys me so vote up for scottish independance and properly mourn our soliders passings

@KaliYugaForKiX Remembrance Day goes beyond political or economic ideology. It is a day where we as Canadians stand together and salute those who have sacrificed for us. They defend us, they lay down their lives for us. And all they ask is respect from us. Show a little.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. Lest We Forget PS If you see anyone burning a poppy, feel free to explain your opinion forthrightly, with as much sensitivity and cultural awareness as the men they are disrespecting would have used.

In England mindless chavs have desecrated 56 war memorials in the past year and in Hartlepool gangs of chavs have made the war memorial out of bounds. This makes me sick.

@condorcdogunner ''to preserve your way of life and give others a right to a life without opression so sit down and think again you muppet''...N.Ireland is Irish territory, the oppressed people are the Catholics, and again with the Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan, an invading force.... Un Tour of Bosnia and Nato tour fine... but those other tours weren't about protecting anyones rights.
