We had the exact same problem with the literature quotes from level 2 last year! An answer key would be so helpful! We dropped them after the one from “Fortunately the Milk”. I agree that Grammar Galaxy does a better job of teaching the parts of speech.

Sneaking in school work while the little ones are napping usually works out pretty well for us. I’m not sure how much longer it will work because I have a couple of kids who will be starting up school soon.

Nap time is a life saver over here! Even when my middle daughter wasn't necessary "napping" we still tried to have "rest time" for reading, etc. It's so hard to get any detailed work done with a toddler running around!

I am definitely shifting to making Fridays a lighter day. It seems like we both need that.

Love your honest feedback, especially with torchlight. It’s taken a while to find what works for us, we do a subject a day and it’s working out so very well. We tried breaking it up as suggested, reading it all in one day as you do it but neither worked. It’s such a rich program so I’m glad we found what works for us. One thing I do struggle with is how the info is presented for the instructor, I dread preparing each week🤦‍♀️. We are doing level 1 only. My Kindergartener was not into level K, but is enjoying level 1 with her brother.

What are the names of the free online math resources/games that your daughter was playing and you've been using?

Interesting.... I'm currently a little more than half way done with LOE C with my second grader and was going to move to essentials in 3rd grade once finished with D. However, he is above the reading level of D. Do you have essentials? Do you think it's fine to just finish C and move into Essentials? I don't want to miss anything important and never really considered that as an option.
