Thank you for continuing St. Don Bosco's life for us. You're doing a great job. God bless you🙏🕯❤️

My biggest takeaway was the difference between those who convert to Catholicism from Protestantism, vs the other way. I think people only assume being Catholic is harder because of Purgatory, Confession, fasting on Fridays and during Lent, etc. They don’t realize how many blessings we have in such things as the Sacraments (including Confession!), the intercession of the Saints, our relationship with our Blessed Mother, and so on. Thank you for another great video! God Bless!

From my own experiences, when I embraced regular sacramental confession, I firmly believe that I was given an enormous grace of self awareness, which is really vital to being able to make a good confession. Even the most minute things have to be accounted for like impatience, spiritual pride, judging a friend or coworker for something prematurely, etc. I was in confession one day, and the priest asked if I had anything else, and I just happened to blurt out, yes, I am very thankful to God for the sacrament of confession! He kind of laughed and said yes, where would any of us be without it. The sacraments of the church are how God works most to give us His grace.

It's not seen as harder, and protestant churches have sacraments, lent, confession. It's the modern protestants you are referring to that literally don't even have communion and some don't even baptise. You will notice that protestantism in it's original form is much more catholic than what today's protestants believe.

@ you’re right, thank you for clarifying that point. I should have been clearer in my choice of words 🙂

St. John Bosco (1815-1888) was a priest whose ministry was to assist orphans and impoverished youth. He began by opening a hospice for homeless boys, who were instructed in religion and given opportunities to learn tailoring, shoemaking and printing. “Don Bosco” and his staff, organized under the patronage of St. Francis de Sales, eventually became known as the Salesians. Later, John organized a group of Salesian Sisters to assist girls. When Don Bosco died, the congregation numbered over 1000 members and had spread to 7 countries in Europe and South America. The Gospel tells us that the relatives of Jesus “sought to take control of him, convinced he was out of his mind.” At one point, two “friends” of Don Bosco tried to commit him to an institution for the mentally ill. They brought a carriage and were planning to trick him into coming with them. But instead of getting in, John politely said, “After you.” When his friends were in the carriage, he slammed the door, and told the driver to take off as fast as he could go!
