also most people just putt a desulvator on a already charged battery and leave it there for a couple of ours than to vind that they measure no improvemend , that is because its necessery along with desulfating to also cycle the battery, thats is to bring the voltage way down UNDER the normaly recommended minimum voltage somewhere around 11volt! its not dangerous at all and even beneficiall IF you start recharging with low amps immediatly so the plate conversion process starts up well

giottodiotto1. I understand where you are coming from, but how can a deep discharge be beneficial? Every cycle removes life from the battery. Deep discharges, even more so, and for starter batteries, every cycle is particularly damaging. I would suggest a drop tester 'cycle' or 2, then charge back up. As an example, an Ultramax 7.2 Ah AGM will do 400 cycles at full discharge. 1200 at 20% discharge. I wouldn't attempt that with a vehicle battery. "somewhere around 11volt!" If I may. The minimum voltage is a function of the discharge rate. 10.5V appears average, but you can go lower if using a high current drain. 9.6V in the case of the above example. The voltage will 'bounce back'. If you go lower than normal voltage on a light load, the battery will suffer severely.

@chaotica extreme what I ment was the minimum voltage "under load" so 11 volt is stil safe then. what happens wit cycling is that the oxidatien layer gets broken up so that the plates start to work again . Same thing happens when you start using a battery again, that has been sitting still although charged for a long time, its benevitial to first cycli the battery before use, otherwise it wil have a low capacity ( little amphours) although the open resting voltage seems good ( 12.7 /13.00 volts) suggesties a full charge, as soon as you put the battery under load the voltage Will sag. After One or two cyclus the batt restores its ah capacity again. voltage measure ment aloë is NOT a good measure of batt health, better check the amphours Allso!

Hi i have almost the same Desulfator the only difference is the blue front instead of orange. it works very well my experiences is positive. I have an old starter battery that have not enough energy to start my diesel engine, after a few days undercurrent with the desulfator I could start the engine again. I can recommend this desulfator. Saves a lot of money on new batteries.

+lexpee, I am still trying to figure out if there is any difference between the various colored cleanpower brand desulfators. It looks like maybe it has to do with the amount of A/h, capacity of the battery.
@lexpee7 жыл бұрын
Yep Cleanpower that is him, Here it work wonderful. My stater battery is 100AH. It work not if the battery is to old or total gone. My starter battery is 5 year old.

as a rule of thumb its best when you not draw more amps per hour than the factory max recommended CHARGING amps, since charging is in fact the opposite of DIScharging.... e.g this would be for a 100 amp marine, agm ore deepcycle battery something around 20 ampere per hour, this can be higher of course but a lead battery wil not be happy with a greater load than one tenth or two tenths of its max capacity ( C10- C20) furthermore desulfaters DO work but there are many bogus types on the market mostly from...you guessed it...CHINA i myself did resently brougt a smal 4 years old AGM (12V- 7 AH) back to usefull order by decharging it with a small 300 milliamp load until the voltage was 10.5 volts ( under load) as soon as the load was removed in bounces back to 12.2 volt than recharged it with 600 milliamps with a smal inexpensive IVT accu- activator plus( sends a spike back every 30 seconds in the battery, left it charging for about 10 ours , charger floats no higher than 13.8 volts....after this battery was working again in good order with about 80 percent of its original capacity back! so it seems that someone in china has a good time and you not, hope this helps do try it with another device ans you WILL see good results

Greetings, during the sulfation process, do the residues fall to the bottom of the battery or simply disappear by virtue of Epson Salt dissolves? If it falls to the bottom is it important to get rid of it for the best functionality of the battery itself?

@MyPlayHouse8 жыл бұрын
Hi +Simon Dambro I of course understand what you are writing,, but I keep this channel in english,, i have viewers from over 200 countries. I do charge the batteries before i put on the desulfator,, and i often leave the charger on wile desulfating. The poles of the battery is very often just called Plus and minus ,,, just like in Danish. I do think that it in cars is good practice to remove the minus lead first, and then the plus,,, but desulfator,,doesn't mater :-) Thank you for watching! :-)

I just realized that there IS a reason why the Lead battery manufacturers always present the Measured capacity of their products at a lowly "C20"rate: simple: most lead family type batterys are not very good in sustaining high amperage draws for a long time, that is the negative result of the "peukert factor"that is the more amps you draw from a battery the smaller it seems to be.... The Much newer family of Lithium battery’s are far Les prone to this effect, hence they are not only lighter in weight, but also capable of sustaining high discharge amp draws in the order of even 2 to 5 times there capacity! Ideal for automotive use or on a electric bike... I my opinion the ancient Lead acid (yes Also AGM) is nowadays onlyl good for lighting and operating radios etc, thus Low draw, But for demanding POWER you really are better of by switching to LIthium... Preferably the nice LiFePO4 variety. As another benefit you can forget desulphators altogether simply because these batts DO NOT get sulphated at all! Another benefit is especially with LiFePo4 the fourfold number of Discharge cycles in the order of 2000 cycles at 100 DOD! simply impossible with even the best lead acid types.

IF 18650 CELLS ARE CONNECTED IN PARALLEL AND THERE IS A SHORT IN ONE, YOU HAVE TO THROW ALL. THE SHORTED CELL CAUSES ALL OTHER HUGE DISCHARGE CURRENT. THE SAFETY MEMBRANE DISCONNECTS THE CELL AND IT IS VERY HARD TO MANUALLY RESET WITHOUT DESTROYING THE CELL. DENDRITES GROW THROUGH SEPARATORS EVEN IN LITHIUM-IRON PHOSPHATE BATTERIES. EVEN IN THOSE CONSTANTLY CHARGED TO A CONSERVATION VOLTAGE OF 3.0-3.2V AND STORED REFRIGERATED BY THE ARMY IN OPTIMAL TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY.
