I really enjoy your videos , I’m just getting into Flatheads fishing pool 14 Mississippi River mainly using gills for bait . After catching any catfish , if I know I’m keeping them ,I lop their tails off and let them bleed out on a stringer out the back of the boat then put them on ice it makes a huge difference in quality of the fish ! No fishy taste and very clean white fillets .

I was flathead fishing and I caught a 7lb walleye using a 8inch Shad, then my hand size bluegill got hit and I got a 10lb walleye within minutes! No flatheads that night but a nice meal later!

Used to run the Des Moines and Skunk Rivers on summer nights using throw lines anchored to tree limbs. Had tags made with auto reflectors. Either the nights did good and the days not, ot the otherwise around. Most of the big cats we got were at night though.

There has been 1000 lbs. catfish spotted! THAT A MONSTER I seen one in Lake Texoma That was longer than my 22' bass boat. I didn't know how to bring that monster in. with out a gun. It would pulling me and my boat both down with it. It was just sunning in the water, about 2 down. I circle it 5 x trying to figure out how to bring it in with out a GUN.
