Listening through headphones the amp did sound better. But maybe because I knew it was the amp? Really entertaining video as always. You're a natural at this!

I agree. 10% better. Warmer, fuller, more presence. However, it wasn't so much better I would not use the ampless solutions offered by the Revolt

First Time viewer here, love the Two Notes products have a Captor, Cab M + and 2 Revv amps with torpedo embedded technology. I think the amps are the way to go push the load box switch and play silent or through your studio monitors. Plus, because it's an amp, it takes pedals well like an amp. Then, take it to the gig and plug right into the board. As I'm sure you know, because you have a Revolt, the software is pretty cool too.

Hey, thanks for watching! Yeah, I think the ecosystem is pretty strong. I first got introduced to it when a friend got a Revv amp with the two-notes stuff built in. Long-term, I might revisit the load box approach now that Genome is here and I find it a LOT more capable than Wall Of Sound, but we'll see.

I'm doing a cheap-ass version of this (Joyo California into a cheap headphone amp) and it's SO convenient. Makes it so much easier to pick up and play than dealing with software. Thanks for covering this stuff, maybe this or something like it is the upgrade for me someday.

Sorry to add another "try this amp sim" to the line up, but I would be really interested to hear how this goes against the Simplifier mkII. While it doesn't have a tube, it is fully analog and has gotten tons of praise, so it might be a good comparison for someone who wants to keep one foot in the analog world rather than full digital.

Heck yes! Ive been wanting someone I trust to review the two notes stuff. Ive been looking at the revolt and their older amp sim pedals. I have their cab sim pedal , and it is pretty great. ive been using the Walrus amp sim pedal, Ive been happy with it, they updated it a while back to give more overdrive to the fender and a little more control over the gain in the Marshall and Vox. i dig it for my quiet home studio sounds. but ill always prefer an amp. Love that Peavey! I have a stereo chorus solid state amp from thr 90s, with aftermarket green backs, It sounds amazing for cleans, I also have the delta Blues, It is fantastic too. great video!

Fantastic video! Calling out when settings/setups don't sound good, bad distortion, and the continuous nature of tubes distortion that is often hard to capture with pedal

у меня уже полгода в использовании revolt bass и это лучший басовый звук из коробки который я слышал. Раньше покупал boss 1000 core, но так и не смог его настроить, чтобы не было гула от бас гитары.

Awesome demo man! I was seriously looking into this unit months back until my uncle/musical mentor/longtime friend recently blindsided me with a new Fractal FM3 MkII! Whoa! Right?! That said? I’m still a big fan of slapping an analog preamp tube with drive pedals and such, so I’m thinking of adding something like a Blackstar Dept 10 tube boost, or a decent Jfet boost to put between my analog drives/fuzzes and the FM3. Does that make sense or am I overthinking? ADD/ASPD be like that. Ha! What do you think? Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Oh nice! I played with a Fractal for a while at a friend's studio and was really blown away. I think that for recording and practicing it's getting to be a reasonable alternative to a big expensive amp, as long as you've got a good PA that can reproduce it like a real guitar amp. But yeah, I think I'll always want to throw something analog into the signal chain. It keeps things grounded. What I'd really love to see is an interface with amp-like controls. Most have an "instrument" mode that helps, but yeah, throw a few JFETs in there and let me control the drive and EQ!

I have the Le Clean on my board as one of my preamps. I use my switcher to either go between that and the CBA Preamp MKII or some weird combo of the two. I love it. Two Notes analog kit is a bit of a sleeper. People hate on the Le Clean, saying that it's too "ice-pick-y"...but I suspect that those folk are running it into the front end of their amp (double preamp-ing?). I thought about switching up to the Revolt...is the effects loop MIDI controllable? That's my biggest gripe with Le Clean. Thanks again for another cool pedal deep-dive.

Love this demo! Thanks for getting into the "ampless side" of things. I'm like you, I was kind of cornered into going ampless, (For different reasons, yeah - some the same, but you know - same end result) Anyway, I landed on the Boss IR-2. I have found it to be satisfactory in terms of overall sound, and it takes pedals VERY well. Like you, it seems that these companies chasing these sales for ampless rigs think there are only metal-heads and clean platform amp freaks in this big wide world of guitar playing. The IR-2 does actually have a Vox simulation and a couple of decent "less than clean" choices but a lot of the rig is based on heavier tones. Nothing wrong with that, but I agree, a little more in the middle ground would be great. Oh, and yes to the Genome video.

Thank you! I'm a bit hesitant about the IR-2 (and 200). It seems like it would be a great solution from a practical standpoint, but I worry about those transparant OD/boost/fuzz pedals. Certainly not ruling it out, though. But yeah, more middle-ground OD!!!

@@StompboxBreakdown Fuzz seems to be okay. But what is missing is the interplay between a traditional amp and the rest of your gear.. It doesn't even have to be a tube amp, it just has to have that potential feedback loop that is missing from digitized simulations. Imagine Tom Morello if he had only had amp sims to work with all of his career!

Nice intro man you had the jimmy chamberlin hummer beat swag going on. Nice slinky slidey pumpkiny guitar stuff in that- then it goes bluesy like they are featuring John frusciante but he's been drinking on Arnold palmers

Just got my Looking Glass! Such a cool drive. What speaker is in your Classic 30? I have one and am looking for a better speaker than the 70/80 in mine. Yours sounds rad!

Looking Glass has so much range to it. It’s a gem. I just checked and my C30 has a Celestion G12 70 watt speaker. Not sure if it’s stock but I’ve always liked it

@@StompboxBreakdown Thanks! I'll look into getting one as the amp sounded warm and full. Yes the LG is a great pedal. Do you use both modes? I tend to stick with the lower gain mode 1. The high gain mode is kinda noisy and somewhat hard to wrangle.

Curious between this and Tonex, as it seems like it’s around at the same ballpark in terms of the price. What’s your thoughts?
