It's honestly refreshing seeing modern scientific updates being conveyed on KZbin. And while I don't have a background in chemistry, I still find it interesting, and can understand bits and pieces.

Thanks for introducing latest novel papers! In the second paper, MacMillan and coworker's shows the novel FGI methodology, which includes syntheses of sulfonyl fluorides. As you mentioned, sulfonyl fluorides has not only stable than its chloride analogue, but has the versatile roles in sulfur(VI)-fluoride exchange(SuFEx), which is the second-generation click chemistry. Now there is the steppingstone to conjugate two alcohols, one is converting to sulfonyl fluoride and other one acts as nucleophile to sulfur-fluoride linkage. That point might be the driving force to submission on JACS😮

It was very interesting to see the varying yields of the ester to ether mechanism. I think that this chemistry has great application and js very innovative

Damn, I wonder how long it took, from starting their respective projects, to get those papers published. That looks like a lot of work... very thorough. Edit: a, they're called scopes? alright. Been a while since I partook in academics. I thought scope was something each and every paper should have, in one form or another. But I digress...
