Two on board Iran President Raisi's crashed helicopter contacted rescuers

Iranian officials said rescuers made contact with two people that were on the helicopter that suffered a “crash landing” with Iran President Ebrahim Raisi.

yah...I'm struggling with this too, it was announce from multiple sources, including CNN where I read it, that 8 hours before they found them all dead that they had contacted 2 survivors. The 2 survivors said the crash wasn't severe. This is exactly what was reported. I'm not actually convinced he died yet, I'll need a week to see if he miraculously comes back from the dead as if by miracle. Turkey also said they found a heat source, but when they went to it, they didn't see a crash site...which it should have been the crash site, so they should have seen it...and then an hour later, or so, they found it. There's just too much weirdness.

But the fact that nothing has been said makes me think that they are scrambling behind the scenes trying to figure out the best way to reveal his status, possibly being in fear of protest and/or riots breaking out.

I was army aviation for 8 Years....they are great vehicles. I trust them much more than I do any plane except the small planes. Small planes can glide down if they have to. Helicopters have auto rotate, which gives them a little bit of a gravity reduction right before they hit the ground.... hard landing, but survivable. Big planes? they are bricks, they fall with no engine....straight down. Helis are noisy, a bit jarring, but pretty safe. They were fun to ride in. Do you drive? far worse safety record. ;)

I’ve lived in Teheran from 1972 to 1978. I know that if you helicopter crash in the mountains North of Teheran you would not survive overnight as there are lions and tigers in the mountains. Additionally, the mountains are an exceptionally difficult terrain to survive in. Many people have driven cars right off the road & have plummeted 1,000 to 2,000 feet to their death. Their death is no less than the hand of God.

I am sure that the helicopter has an emergency locator transmitter on board. That broadcasts a signal that maps the coordinates of the crash. I cannot imagine that there was not one on board. It was definatley a Bell 212 helicopter. I worked on them in the Air Force and in the civilian world.

🙏 for the president and for those aboard this helicopter. Helicopters are so dangerous ! I would never trust one to carry someone that was precious to me, not ever ! Hoping to hear he is ok. So terrible ! So sorry for the loss of the people aboard and their families pain and loss. Regardless of politics-agreeing or disagreeing, these are human lives lost. It is a tragic loss of life. We are all brothers and sisters under God. It's high time we all realize this and treat one another and all living things with love and respect despite our differences, we all bleed red, we all hurt and suffer loss. ❤ 🙏
