I have family history in this region, so I'm thoroughly enjoying your travels through north and outback QLD. It helps me understand the stories I grew up with. I hope your channels continues to grow as you are doing an amazing job of presenting us with a great tour of so many places we don't always hear about.

When I tell you how excited I got when I saw that you visited Charters Towers. I live about 40 minutes out of town and I love it so much and I am honoured that you did this video on it. I always take for granted how beautiful my town is.

Thank you for taking me home to Charters Towers. I was born there 64 years ago and left in 1995 for Tasmania. I've been back once since then. Too hot to go back. You brought tears seeing all those familiar places. I'm sorry you didn't visit the Venus Battery. My grandfather worked there. So many memories flooding back.

Classic stuff, well done with this episode! Loved the stories re the RAILWAY HOTEL and the ghosts etc. I'd always been a sceptic until the early 1980s when I lived in an old terrace in GLEBE in Sydney. I was 'visited' in my room one night around 1.00am by a strange sound which I couldn't recognise, it came through the open door, around the room and faded away. Months later I was involved in a theatre production and on the day of the first full dress rehearsal, I froze back stage when I heard the very same sound. A female cast had walked out of her dressing room down a narrow hall wearing a full wide Victorian dress, and the sound the lower part of the dress made down by the ankles as it brushed up against the skirting boards and timber flooring was identical. There was always movement going on in the house, especially at night. Some of the old timber floor boards would creak in a particular way if you walked on them, trouble is I was the only one in another part of the terrace when I would hear the very same floor boards...

I spent 5 years going to boarding school there (Blackheath and Thornburgh 87-91) and we went on a lot of excursions. You learn a lot about local history. The township's population drops significantly during school holidays. Ravenswood has grown in the last few decades. It looked very different when I was there last 3½ decades ago. Also, at one point, they were seriously considering making it our capital city.
