Did you get the cheeks out of the grouper? I love grouper cheeks. There used to be a restaurant in John's Pass that sold grouper cheek sandwiches and had a french fry press. Fresh fries, grouper cheeks on a toasted cuban roll. Heaven. Then they closed. To be fair, they were charging $19.00 for a sandwich and fries...in 1994. Thats like $40($39.19) in today's miney

People habe been killed by swordfish. Randy Llanes in Hawaii was killed in 2015 when he speared one with a speargun, then the fish returned the favor and stabbed him in the chest. Another woman in Florida was stabbed in the groin when either a marlin or sailfish (I forget) lept out of the water at full speed run towards the boat amd spiked her. When Imwas working fishing charters, we had a client stab his son with the tip of a marlin. We had cut the spike off because a group of scientists in Mexico made us. The client picked up the spike and was pretending to sword fight his son who was holding a rod as his sword. The dad lunged as the son drove forward and he stabbed his son in the shoulder. Took 18 stitches to close. One of the dumbest things I've ever seen

Mid teens, right under 20 if we really put the wood to them. We have smaller fish here so that’s why we can get away with it. The reason I bumped it up to 30+ pounds was bc we couldn’t move him past 250 foot for like 30 minutes. He was either hooked well enough or if he wasn’t we were going to fight him so long that the hook was going to pull.
