Two Point Hospital Strategy & Tactics Quick Tip: Getting Started In Duckworth Upon Bilge

One of the most (in)famous levels of Two Point Hospital, Duckworth Upon Bilge tasks you with running a public hospital. One where each patient you cure and diagnose does not earn you one red cent. Instead, you are at the beck and call of the local health minister. It is he, not your patients, who will be signing your checks. Staying alive financially can be tricky, but there are things you can do to stack the deck in your favor and come out ahead. Today I show you how to set yourself up for success.

If you are having trouble with this level you can use research in an already built up hospital in another level for general research, just before it completes switch back to this hospital and let it finish, you can get an easy stream of money this way; a little cheap but this level is hell for 3 stars.

One Trick I used is to always have an extra Building unlocked with nothing in it, this sometimes tirggers a mission to get the temperaturelevel of the hospital above (I belive) 80%, so just put a radiator in that empty building, get the money and sell the radiator again

I guess I'll re-comment - My tips for this level are 1) To keep a research room around for when you need those 100 research points (even if you outsource machine upgrades to an earlier hospital) and 2) Get all your rooms to the cusp of level 4 but not quite there, when they challenge you to get a Lv4 room add a single gold star award to get the money then remove it again so it becomes viable for the challenge again. Only instant way to earn money on this level and the more Lv3 rooms you have then the more likely it is to come up. Though I use many of the tips from your videos I still can't bring myself to design hospitals that make little aesthetic sense such how you arrange couches in the Psych rooms. It may cost me in game efficiency but my rooms have to look somewhat realistic, though admittedly they tend to have a _lot_ more drugs available in every room than they really should. ;)

Another trick I do is to place/remove a rosebush in an empty hospital wing to get the x% beautification task. Get the hospital just under the threshhold and you're good to go.

Thanks for this video .. i realized how to manage my space...when i was getting 3 star, In the main building block i had 5 GP Rooms, 2 Gen Diagnosis, 2 Cardio, 2 Fluid Analysis, 1 Training, 1 Toilet and 1 Staff-room and 2-Person Reception room. My main objective was, once a patient left this block, he/she shouldnt retuen to this block. Thereby reducing crowd.

Thank you for this video. I’ve tried this level 4 times and am about to restart again. I thought I had the hang of these types of levels but not this time. I’ve gotten so used to your usual rules that it feels weird to break those habits. But now I have a little more hope that attempt #5 will be better...or at least not fail quite as spectacularly as attempt #4. 😆

You can build research room and do "money" project all the time. I also forbid janitors to clean toilets, refill vending machines until quest appears.

Perfect! This is just what I need. I have three starred every base game hospital except this one. I got to one star in it and moved on. I need to get that star done so that I can get my 45 star achievement and move on to the DLC!

Was prettty easy with research. I just deleted everything at the start, and built a research lab ttaining room, and bathroom.

in the public hospitals I don't make LITERALLY ANYTHING unless I get paid for it. ignore deaths and everything else. the level becomes very easy.

You don't need 10 plants or 8 vending machines. You can just have 2 of each and then you can just click the same plant multiple times and have the Janitor water it 10 times. Same with vending machines and unclogging toilets as required.

Yeah i found the toilet one annoying as no one seemed to use the toilets, so all my vending machines became laxatives 😈

The toxic bin doesn't hold as much, maybe 4 pieces of trash, but never affects hygiene or attractiveness. The big bin holds like 10 pieces of trash but gets nasty if janitors let it get full.
