What a well legislated scam. Once again the ordinary man/woman trying to make an honest living loses his/her hard earned money to the inefficient state. They know people are desperate to withdraw hence they introduce all these draconian tax measures. Clearly this 2/3 pot system is not meant to help to help struggling employees but it’s there to increase the tax revenue

Makes sense, let's take a simple example - if you earn R 10 000 a month and don't pay towards a pension, then you are taxed on the full R 10 000. but if you earn R 10 000 and contribute R 1 000 towards a pension, then you are only taxed on R 9 000, this delayed tax needs to be paid at a later date when you withdraw your retirement funds. Not rocket science.😊
