Yes, without prayer we are toast! After the catastrophe that hit my family, I was drawn to prayer not so much traditional prayers, but a conversation with God (The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.) Every morning, I go outside and sit on a cement cinder block behind my shed. Sometimes I’ll grab a cup of coffee and just sit there for 45 minutes to an hour each morning to be with our Heavenly Father. As I’m sitting on that cinder block, I am facing the woods. I see all the critters, birds, chipmunks squirrels… I look forward so much to this part of the day to be with God. The sad part is, when I have to get off that cinderblock and start my day. I’d rather stay on that cinder block because it’s so peaceful with God. But I know there’s work that must be done. About a year ago as I was sitting on the block, I asked myself, maybe I’m not doing enough even though I was totally worn out. And then I believe the Holy Spirit spoke. And this is what I heard…” every soul has a tolerance level” this made total sense to me. If I was to keep going on that frantic pace of raising a family and preaching and teaching, I think I would’ve had a heart attack. I have welcomed this season in my life. I cannot do the running around I used to do but I can surely be a prayer warrior! And that’s a marvelous thing.

My marriage is in trouble again. It was in mager trouble 10 yrs ago. I gave him a pass & did what I had to, to go forward. But I don't think I can do it allover again. I was 50 then now I'm 60. As I get older I have gotten tired of living in this marriage where I have to be the grownup & he gets to make devastating decision but never takes responsibility for his actions. I know this time I have to leave him & hope he can manage on his own. He will have to grow up quick. I don't want to look back, I need to move forward. But I will take your Holy Moments with me. Thank you ✝️🙏🕊

The last time I felt amazing is when I collaborated with God to create another Holy Moment, yesterday, at Sunday Mass! I found the page in the hymnal for the Latin version of the Gloria and gave my hymnal to the man in front of me who was searching for that hymn, couldn't find it and finally put the hymnal down. He turned around after the hymn was finished and gave me a big, grateful, smile. His face was all lit up and beaming! That made my day! Thank you, Lord, for giving me another chance to create another Holy Moment with You! Let's keep the Holy Moments Movement Momentum Alive!

We are Eternal Souls..Complete..Whole..Perfect Already. Then we put on our body suits and come to Experience Life on Earth. We learn something..or not! But we experience! Then we die and go back to Heaven as the Souls we Really Are. 😊

Prayer is definitely a must every day! With the grace of the Holy Spirit, I've learned and experienced the presence of God's love for me in my life. I grow in gratitude for God's blessings. The fruit of peace blossoms because I know that God has been taking care of me all along. By resting in Prayer, the Holy Spirit teaches me to be totally trusting and confident that God will continually take care of me with unconditional, infinite, everlasting Love! "Nothing will separate us from the love of Christ!" We experience Suffering, Crucifixion, Death, AND Resurrection with and in the Lord, Jesus Christ! Amen! Alleluia!

It takes me a while to sit and listen to a batch of your KZbin’s. I wait until I’m exhausted and need to relax so I can absorb your words. One day I received “I heard God Laugh”. It changed my prayer life. I needed a guide or an example of structured prayer and you gave it to me. I use to wonder away while praying but not anymore. I have shared this with others and they just stare at me!!!! It works for me and I thank you Matthew Kelly! I really enjoy these KZbin’s

I totally agree! I am grateful for you Matthew Kelly. What beautiful heart. I am currently ready Holy Moments. God dropped it into my hands. So grateful. I would add that besides prayer, we need to daily be in the Word (the Bible). The Bible is God's manual to us, without it we cannot know His heart. It keeps us from sin (wrongdoing) when we hide it in our hearts. I read my Bible on my phone with the help of the YouVersion Bible app free from Life Church. So powerful and always at hand to fill (fuel)myself up so I can live out loud the Kingdom life God has created me for. Be blessed Matthew. Press on.

A client introduced me to your ministry several years ago through your best lent ever series. I then found your books in our parish office throughout the years. I notoriously do way too much of the wrong things. Setting my TV to come on EWTN at 700am to hear the chaplet of St. Michael with Mother Angelica then the rosary from the Holy land with Fr. Mitch is helping me start off the day better. I also created a Pandora station of Christian instrumental music.

Thank you, Mat. Another great, thought-provoking video. A great catalyst in my pursuit for happiness is gratitude. It helps center me and give me perspective. The funny thing about it is that the more times you focus on gratitude, the more you become aware of how many more things you are grateful for. It becomes a habit that keeps on growing. Thanks again.

What do people who cannot or are no longer able to do very much do? Even those who are too tired to pray?. A lot of seniors or people with medical issues that disable them struggle with this very sense of not doing enough. Even prayer is a challenge. So it's a bit opposite of the scenario you present. I find as I've gotten older, gentle prayer time and conversations with God becomes a bigger part of my day. Some people have no one to talk to like you, Matthew, and your friend do, so those conversations with God help with our problems, our questions and just to be comfortably silent with each other, as you and your friend enjoy with each other. I'd love to hear your perspective some time on aging and praying. Especially for those who are now house bound and are no longer able to physically get to Mass. A whole gamut of problems, worries, fears, guilt, especially for those getting closer to the end of life. Thanks Matthew. This was a wonderful video, as always.

Hey Matthew, I have a friend who 73 and does not really speak of her faith and does not read the Bible at all. I have told her about Jesus and she prayed the sinners prayer with me so I believe she is saved she says she says her prayers at night. All of the books she reads are John Grisham and either scary or murderous ones and after you said about what we read is what we become the following year, I’m wondering how can I help switch her to something that has more God value in it and yet is a good story like John Grisham‘s books? She watches the same type of scary violent shows on TV. I’m not criticizing her only in hopes of planting some goodness in her mind. 🙏🏻

What happens if Jesus says he won’t answer my prayers. I opened up to the imitation of Christ, probably 20 times in a row, and in those verses, he said, I will ask and not receive, but my reward will be later.
