What do you think it makes you feel drawn to Catholic Church?
@aborgeshonorato2 жыл бұрын
@@davidtiradogomez5485 After searching/reading and reflecting about the most ancient recorded practice of early christian communities, I came to this point where I found that the Catholic Church tradition does not fall far from what were early christian beliefs. Islam has beautiful teachings but I believe in Jesus Christ as my saviour, and that is something that is not acceptable in Islam. It took me over 3 years to gather courage to decide that I wanted leave Islam. It is not easy. It is a journey of seeking and searching the truth. Iam not here to offend anyone, everyone has their own spiritual path. Thank you.
Blessed are you, Ana Maria, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by Jesus’ Father in heaven and Holy Spirit. I have a deep respect for my “brothers” the islams, so I wonder when those days will be when they and Israel recognize that Jesus is the Son of God. Greeting from USA.

This reminds me of the priest at my old church in California. He shared that he was engaged to be married when he was younger. Then one day, he went to a retreat and something happened to him (like that of Fr. Mike) and decided to answer God's call to priesthood. When he went back home, he called his fiancee and told her that they needed to talk, she agreed because she also had something important to tell him. When they met, he was nervous and crying and told her about his decision. She reacted the same way too.. Why?? Because while she was away, she had her own discernment and moment with God that made her decide to become a nun. So they called off the engagement and pursued holy lives through the sacrament of holy order.

I was lost and I didn't realize how lost I was til I started pursuing God. Its been a rough uphill battle and everytime I feel like I'm just dangling over the edge about to fall, Hes there sustaining me. A ride it has been and there's still a long way to go but genuinely, I'm grateful for His love and mercy Praying for you, I saw a little of my story in yours. Keep at it, and may God cover you in the blood of the lamb.

As a muslim, I have tremendous respect for priests and nuns. I never forget this Padre Fortin who was the chaplan at the grad school I attended. There were a handful of Muslim students and all of them male. He became sort of like an 'Imam' for me and on my way to prayer room (he gave us the catholic chapel to use from Monday to Friday ) he would stop me to chat and ensure I was doing okay. He was worried I felt alone because I was the only Muslim female. We would about our spiritual journeys and the challenges that it entails. Later, I learned he passed away from a heart attack. As well, it seems there is an immediate unspoken connection between Muslim women and nuns. It is probabaly due to clothing, but there is almost always a 'hello'-spoken or unspoken between us. May God bless your service to your community.

You are right, remember that just like other things, Our prophet Muhammad took most of the things from either Jews or Christians. The way Muslim women dress was also taken from the Christian women at that time.

Younis-our beloved prophet did not 'take' from Christians and Jews, rather there are similarities because Muhammad (saws) is considered the last messenger completing the last part of the same message sent to what we now call Christians and Jews. Nancy, that is so sweet; thank you :) However, Islam is my everything and can't really see myself considering another religion. Funny thing, I have asked myself would I have become a nun if I were catholic haha. In God's peace!

There are several of youngish priests on KZbin who have had this experience. Fr. Chris Alar is another one. I think it's a good development. In my generation, boys often were persuaded into the seminary at a young age. Right about the same time Fr. Mike had his awakening. They never experienced loving and being loved and how to manage the carnal desires that come with that. A man who has gone thru it with a good woman and been victorious in his maintenance of chastity has a better understanding of the whole of human experience and can better serve the people under his care. He's not simply repeating learned rules.

@@freedom4063 The New Testament says sin is in the inside- not the outside. It’s about the interior- not exterior. His tattoo issue is between him and Jesus. Priests are required to have an attraction to females as they become the groom and the church their bride. Marriage has to be an attractive option for them for a true calling. Discernment continues until a vow or promise is made. Also- there are validly ordained married men in the priesthood... in both the Western and Eastern Catholic Church.

My parish priest had the same thing happen to him. He had a serious girlfriend and she was the one who told him he would make a good priest. And he is.

I just discovered Fr. Mike this past week and now YT showed me his appearance on my favorite KZbin channel, that of Megyn Kelly. Makes it pretty obvious that YT is aware of what I like to watch.

It’s hard to say anything negative about devoting yourself to others. I’m sure some will.

I just learned from him --- when he said that his girlfriend only wanted for him what God wanted for him. And what God wanted for her, too. I understand now and I do believe God loves us and has a plan for each of us individually. We matter to him. ❤️

Subtle? I heard a compliment, but it wasn’t subtle! Completely understandable, though.

Fr Mike's "Bible in a Year" presented by "Ascension Presents" is a game changer. Now the masses who couldn't navigate the Holy Bible have it done for them..all they have to do is listen and discern from this affable and learned, holy and charasmatic priest. I just hope and pray that he doesn't burn out and rests appropriately. God Bless him, Scott Hahn and the team

I always tell myself that - if god wants something for me, and it affects someone else, then it's a blessing for the both of us.
