BTS is short for their Korean name BangTan Seonyondan which means Bulletproof Boyscouts in English. 😊 Hence the name Bangtan Boys used by some, basically meaning the same, Bulletproof Boys. Bangtan means bulletproof. So when they say run Bulletproof they are talking about themselves. 😊

After performing several choreography-heavy songs, sometimes they would collapse backstage, needing oxygen cans or help to even walk. Not always, but there are clips of it. They practice long hours too. After practice, they would just sprawl on the floor of the dance studio. These guys work hard to perfect their performances, even after 10 years in the business. They never slack off and they constantly try to improve themselves, constantly learning.

This song they performed right after the three rappers, rapped a medley of their songs, then a group performance of a heavy dance choreography song “mic drop”, then this song with the heavy choreography again. "Bulletproof" meaning: They block "bullets" of hate, racism, stereotypes, repression with their values of caring for others, love, peace, and self-love. They back up their messages with actions: BTS members personally and as a group, donate $millions to help people. Inspired by BTS' philanthropy, their fandom "ARMY" donates millions in the name of BTS to fund schools, animal and children’s charities, disaster relief and more. In 2017, BTS working with UNICEF launched the Love Myself campaign, to help prevent violence against children and teenagers. In 2020, it was reported ARMYs have organized about 600 charity projects by fanbase teams around the world. They man food and clothing banks, fund low income schools, have regrown rainforests with Mono Forest Project, adopted whales. ARMY also "matches" funds, for example, when BTS donated a million dollars to Black Lives matter, ARMY matched it. It is understandable why people of all ages, ethnicities, incomes levels and cultures love BTS and become ARMYs. All you have to do to be an ARMY is appreciate their music and be a good human being. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

8:30 - My mother asked me recently, after I told her about Suga's solo tour, she asked me in confusion, so how does that work? You watch a concert where you don't understand what they're saying? I said, we read the translation of the lyrics so we do know what they're singing about. Also, for many ARMYs who attend BTS concerts, they actually print out the lyrics and memorize them so they can sing along with them, especially the fanchants and the chorus. Imagine this. J-hope's album "Jack in the Box" was released on July 15 last year and he performed it at Lollapalooza on July 31. Suga's album "D-Day" was released on April 21 and he began his solo tour on April 26. And yet, in these short amounts of time, ARMYs already have the lyrics memorized and were able to sing along. Seeing J-hope and Suga smile when they hear their Korean lyrics being sung back to them is priceless.

Thanks so much for learning a little more about BTS. I'd just like to say that in fact there is almost no difference between live performance and MV performance, except perhaps you can hear their breath a bit more. Their voices are incredibly stable even when dancing vigorously - they've been training to do this for up to 13 years, and often run on the treadmill while singing to build their lung capacity. Jin (currently in the army for his military service) recorded a conversation with Suga before he left, in which he remembered going diving with a group of friends, and being surprised that he could stay underwater for twice as long as them with ease. V, who is learning trumpet had a zoom lesson with his teacher, which he shared with us: The teacher asked him to just play a note, but try to hold it, because beginners end to have difficulty 'sustaining' .... well, @some time laterrrr', the teacher had to interrupt him to ask him to stop 😂. And, yes, there are shots of them coming off stage between energetic numbers in a live concert, and having to be given oxygen, of Jungkook having to be carried to the medic's room because he overheated, and of them collapsing on stage at the end of (for example) Boy with love (among others) because they are spent. This number was performed at their Busan concert last November, which was put on free for fans in support of Busan's council bid for an international expo. BTS and Hybe got some sponsorship but bore by far the most of the concert costs - the council paid nothing. That concert was very emotional because it was only a few days later that Jin announced that he would be enlisting to do his mandatory service. Kpop is a phenomenon that few in the west properly understand. I love BTS and have enormous respect for other Korean bands, even if their music is not for me on a par. All these people have trained for years. made huge sacrifices in regard to friendships and family life, and follow schedules where their days are mapped out with ;no; spare time. BTS revealed that in 2018 they were all allowed only 3 days off out of the whole year - and the remaining 362 days would have been scheduled about 12-14 hours or more. Because they write new material in their own time, they often get 4 hours sleep a night - or less. 2018 nearly made them quit, but they managed and I think things are a bit more human now. I often hear people point out that because they sing in Korean, they can;t understand them : but the same is true for nearly every opera and no one bats an eyelid, so the complaint is one I have little time for I;m afraid. Nearly ALL BTS' MVs have subtitles, except perhaps some very early ones. There are numerous translations available. My favourite is www.doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com because : the translation is thoughtful and authoritative; she includes notes on word play and language forms; she includes a brief background where appropriate, and brief notes on cultural matters. It is invaluable and I strongly recommend it. Text is in Hangul and in English (so if you can read a bit of Hangul (which is easy to learn) it can help but is not necessary.

They asked how they made it? Answer: by working hard and running and having a good team, music, and each other…Then they mention that their is more for the future.

Just to show you how a BTS mv can also be when they make an artistic choice I recommend the one shot mv Save Me. 😉👍 (Make sure you include the very short making of-video because it's both hilarious and shows their unbelievable level of commitment. 😅) The true genius of Save Me really comes out when you include it's sister song I'm Fine so if you watch a live performance pick one with both of them back-to-back. They reversed the key theme notes and the order of the rap line, RM's verse corresponds when read front to back in one and back to front in the other, the choreography changes from individual to interactive and so on. They're also connected via an ambigram that can be seen in their mv for Fake Love (of which you should definitely check out the extended rock vibe version 'cause it's freakin amazing). Pure *chef's kiss* genius, these songs. 💋🤏

The other time is when someone who has never heard of them looks on Wikipedia but doesn’t do anything else to learn about them. We kind of use it as a test. If the reporter calls them bangtan boys we know they didn’t really do any research. Literally nobody who is ARMY calls them that. Everyone says “BTS”, “Bangtan” or “Bangtan Sonyeondan”. And some ARMY also call them “tannies”. Hope this helps!

I didn’t know that. Just reacted to their BTS Guide which is coming out in a couple weeks. I just have to say I have so much more respect for them.

By the way they all do solo stuff, especially this year before the enlistment, the two members who still don't release albums will do so before the end of 2023, so feel free to check them out.

Bangtan Sonyeondan means Bulletproof Boyscouts. Suga's real name is Min Yoongi, he releases his solo work under the name Agust D, which is Suga spelled backwards with DT which stands for Daegu Town, which is where he grew up. He came up with his stage name Suga from his favorite basketball position of a shooting guard. You should watch some of their concert videos or live performances of songs & compare them to their MVs. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Do you want the group as a whole? Songs with just the 4 vocalists? Or with just the rapline? They've performed songs from 1st generation Kpop idols that were amazing. There is 10 years of stuff guys & BTS has done sooooooo many songs. What should you review? I'd start with either concert performances or their most viewed songs on KZbin and work your way down or start with their earliest songs and see their evolution. They've pretty much done it all. I have so many favs that it's hard to pick. You HAVE to watch them perform ON. The Kinetic Manifesto version, the time they performed it in Grand Central Station for Jimmy Fallon's show, & the actual music video. There are compilations of it as well where they switch thru all of their stage performances of it. Their solo songs are also amazing. You should watch Jimin's recent solo work--especially Set Me Free. There is literally too many amazing performances to pick just one, so if I were you I'd either start from the beginning and work up to now or start from now and work your way back. They've been amazing the entire time. Are they better now? Yes and no. Their stage sets are more elaborate but their singing and songwriting has been phenomenal ever since they began. They are definitely more comfortable onstage, but they have set high standards for themselves t/o their careers.

You don't hear much about BTS on American radio because they refuse to play the Payola game that all the other artists do to get their music played. You should definitely watch the video made by Taylor Marie the bang Tang seven I think it's called it's one of the best ones out there it was current as of May 2022 and while it doesn't cover what's been happening with them since they started their Hiatus and their solo careers before entering the Korean military it's a good way to find out about each of the individuals in the group and what they contribute. There are some other videos by X Celeste which covers some of the problems and issues that BTS has had to overcome since their debut in 2013. I discovered BTS in late 2019 and have found them to be inspiring awesome and I love the content of their lyricism in their music it goes much deeper than most people are willing to write about or deal with. I find them to be seven young humble and wholesome young men who have worked hard to achieve what they have achieved💜💜💜💜💜💜
