Agree but it should be balanced. We take pride in this culture, sharing it with foreigners, but let's tell the truth here. There are parents / guardians who are EXPECTING their kids to take care of them upon elderly. They dont save money, they make their kids their retirement fund. Or parents who emotionally abused their kids and expecting them to be strong adults and take care of them. I think we can't keep on being nice to those kinds of people.

The chorus hits me most, I remember in 2020 is the last stage of my mom’s Alzheimer’s, and she had pneumonia. We admitted her to the hospital and luckily I was able to stay with her in the room when she was negative in the Covid test, her doctor told me she is very weak and her heart could stop anytime, I watch her lie on the bed, tubes attached to her all I see is her suffering, as the family gave me permission (they discussed it in a group call) to sign papers to not resuscitate her if her heart stop, and so I wait, one night in the hospital I whisper to her to just close her eyes, rest and just go, some parts I said were in that chorus, I told her I’ll be fine(she is a single mom btw) as I still have her siblings and my cousins to look out for me…she stayed almost two weeks before she was good to go home, she passed away at home on her bed that night, peacefully…days later after the funeral I found MAPA on KZbin which had lot of views, out of curiosity I listened to it and I end up bawling when the chorus came on…still can’t get over it every time I listen to it

It's specially meaningful to us Filipino because a lot of us have to work abroad to earn a living and support the family, parents and adult children alike. Ken's parents work abroad and he lived with his grandparents before he became a member of SB19. Filipinos can really relate to this song. It is a sad reality here that because we don't have enough jobs our people have to work elsewhere. Happy to see you two hugging each other. That's another thing that's rarely seen in western culture. This song reflects the culture of the Philippines. I love my parents dearly but I'm not a showy person and don't really say anything to them despite their genuine efforts to raise us. Glad to see your RV to my favorite song from SB19❤. That was also the first song of theirs that led me to their music. It was a lot of nostalgic feeling and longing for me, since my parents were all gone now. It triggers that memory lane in one's life which had that great influence in our lives. And you are certainly right, in the Philippines, family is paramount. Of course these days there are many challenges to its existence but, it remains a core structure of our culture. I am glad SB19 always finds a way to include a song of gratitude in their EP's. Shows their humility and respect to the people around them.
