zygos are easy, don't let anyone tell you different lol; and they bloom on immature growths so it feels like less waiting than orchids like Cattleyas. neofinetia/vanda falcatas are easy, just make sure you pot them above the media if youre not growing them mounted or in the kokedama style because theyre sensitive to moisture in the nooks and crannies. And cymbs of course, theyre coming out with smaller varieties too! Laelia anceps can withstand cool temps as well.

Good video. Had been unable to rebloom my Dendrobium Nobilis, all pass ons from other people. I followed your advice, they baked all summer looking like death, cooled them in the greenhouse this autumn, then brought them in at first frost. Main problem, ants bringing scale insects. But all have set multiple buds. Thanks!

I do the same with my cymb. It gets dappled light during the summer and full sun in the winter. I grow in LA county and Ventura county (I go between the two for school). This is my first year growing it but it about as undemanding as my non-orchid outdoor plants.

Please advise me on vanda pachara blue... I live in India, it's quite warm here, my vanda gets bright shade because direct light burns them in summer.. I water them about once a day by soaking in a bucket... They have massive roots, they have many new leaves and keikis, but NO BLOOMS. I have got them for two years but alas ....

Hi! Brad! (from Salmon Arm, BC) I have had 2 cymbidiums I got at a garage Sale, (3 years ago) and nothing till this year after having them in morning sun all summer, put them in our greenhouse (there is a small pond in the greenhouse for humidity) it is small and mostly used for 2 citrus trees and some geraniums, and starting seeds in Spring. So put them out there and Presto one pot has two spikes just full of buds and the other is a little behind but 5 spikes with the same color buds ( Can I bring them in the house Safely when all buds are open?) Part two ::0) Love your channel should visit more, I have to slipper orchids not doing well and jealous of the beauty you showed, but working on solving that problem, with a little help from you Carolyn and Merry Christmas

Unless you are an expert on orchids, you really don't know what the individual orchids you buy in the store really need to bloom. Sometimes the instructions are rather vague and not specific to the orchid you buy.
