Nice colours in those scenes. Marble bar is regularly the hottest place in Australia

It did 160 days above 100F in 1923/24, still stands as a record I think. I made an impulsive decision to stay overnight, they obviously didn’t have a room pre-airconditioned, had to go driving for a few hours to let the room be habitable again 😂

@@EastPilbaraWeather I’d go to the local bottle shop and wait in their walk in fridge until a storm happened.

Whats the drone you used? Nice video ! :D Also, whats the blue thing you observed at the end of the video?
@EastPilbaraWeather3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Mavic Pro 3 is the drone used. Blue thing, I’m not well versed on that stuff so I don’t know. Guessing small blue jet or blue pixie, that’s just based on internet research though. 🤷🏼♂️

Mostly Mavic Pro 3, some with the 2.

I think you noticed it, but you caught a blue jet at 2:48

Correct, I regretted the way I edited that so made a separate video that highlighted it more. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5PQaphppN2gerssi=n53rGRyr-W2XqGvb Examples of blue jets get way better but that’s still my first capture of one. Thanks.

I wonder if a derecho or tropical cyclone has ever made landfall in central Australia? Where is the limit where rain reaches? Australia is a very strange place. Everywhere far away and nowhere there is neither shade nor water. However, I prefer Poland.
@EastPilbaraWeather3 ай бұрын
Rain falls over Australia through various means, cold fronts, monsoon troughs, mid level disturbances, north-west cloud bands, cut-off lows, Tropical Cyclones and more. There’s probably nowhere that receives no rainfall. Never been to Poland, strange foreign place to me!
