Just the smell if it today takes me to so many places and times in my life. However I've been subbed to Stark-V's channel to watch this new tech unfold. They are taking orders for the new 60hp & 80hp Motorcross bike. No gear changes or clutch, huge torque, better distribution of weight to make the bike feel lighter blah blah blah. I think the march towards electric bikes is pointless for 2 reasons. First, when youre charging with stuff like coal, gas, or solar and wind power youre still unenvironmental. The mining for batteries and rare earth elements to produce any of these things is the same. Whether youre burning oil or making silicone panels filled with cadnium etc. The only way its viable is some sort of capacitor charged by nuclear power. Thats the only green option. Secondly, in Australia we have examples of mountain bike trails having local green groups trying to get rid of them, putting puncture traps and stringing wire between trees. This means that the hippies and Karens are never going to be happy. Your bike can be dead silent and leave very little roost or marks and they will still complain about us being in the bush or being your next door neighbor etc. Your tracks will be unsightly to the street scape, your motocross track will bring too much traffic or some crap. People that NEED to be appeased, can NEVER be appeased.

Another awesome vid Adam, up to your usual standard. I’d been riding motorbikes since 6 years old with one of the first PW50 and a glorious MX80 Yamaha..The 2-stroke bug really bit me hard on my 8th birthday when my dad went against mum’s wishes and turned up with a beat- up 1980 RM80. I was about 20cm from being able to sit comfortably on the RM, but dad & I rebuilt the engine and tidied it up. Mum was frightened to watch me ride it but it was a different time when it comes to commonsense (of which dad & I had none) and taking responsibility. I was waaaay too small but I chose to ride it faster than I should. I got hurt a couple of times but learned from it. I’m now 46 and been riding pretty much ever since. I’ve had a serious buster a couple of years ago after a dog attacked me halfway around a bitumen corner. My wife/kids were told I was not gonna make it several times, which something I will never forget. I can’t walk very well or very far now, but the mighty KTM 500 I was riding at the time is still sitting in the garage, all fixed up. I’m not selling it, or the 300 or the old kx250. I might have to tone it down a bit, but the freedom of heading off-road or into the roads less travelled with a shrieking 2-stroke or a thumping 4-stroke between the legs is something I’ll never grow tired of. Your videos were instrumental in keeping me looking forward while I negotiated a long road of recovery. Keep up the awesome work!

Still looking forward to electric. I own a Sur Ron and it’s fantastic in tight single track. It’s the way to keep parks open and allow people to ride in more areas. That’s a positive.

Great video Adam, and your right, a motorcycle must be feel, hear and ride.. I got my 2 stroke 14 years ago, but I won't go electric, not for woods and off road..

I used to think the same until I saw a demo MX race at Philip Island MotoGP probably 5 or more years ago at Lukey Heights. These blokes were all geared up and racing to win, not just doing circles. They were riding Altas I think they were. It was awesome! They were calling out to each other, laughing and just having a ball. The best part was you could hear it all and you felt like you were part of it. It was funny! They were cutting each other up and bouncing off each other on this small MX track. As much as I love 2 strokes, all BS talk here is fear of the unknown IMO. Until you've ridden one you're just swinging at shadows, you're just afraid of the dark!!

I dont ride dirtbikes anymore but i really miss the 2strokes :D As a young boy at the tracks i started to think the wave of 4stroke felt wrong and i guess the change today will be 4stroke to electric for the next generations to witness. I dont hate on ev tho, i think its great. If i could afford one i would get one in a heartbeat. It might missout on some of the core things that makes combustion engines so enjoyable but it also opens up for new possibilities.

I got my first bike RM80HD that also was 39yrs ago. Ive never had a 4stroke and NEVER will. As for the plug in the wall bike not ever. I weathered the 4stroke propaganda on a 2stroke and now today most of my mx mates are back on 2strokes. It makes you feel alive on 2strokes.

I love two strokes and I dont mind four strokes but electric really boils my blood. even the highest performance batteries have around 1/30 the energy density of gasoline so no electric bike could ever outlast a gas bike and because of the batteries power output limitations and the fact that they need to be massive and heavy in a dirtbike makes it almost impossible for an electric to outperform a gas bike ever. electric motors are lighter and smaller with the same power but the batteries physically become as good or even close to as good as gas, and with bikes having a vary large engine to total size ratio there is no way an electric bike could beat its power because the motor has to be smaller to make up for the crappy battery. I am sick of these electric dirtbike brands lying to everyone just because they get unlimited protection from the media. after people start switching to electric bikes and electric cars become more common people will realize how the suck and al the downsides have been hidden from them so stay strong, combustion motors will stay!

I’ve had a Tesla for 2 years and besides changing the tyres I haven’t had to do anything but plug it in. Still waiting for these issues you’re talking about to arise. Oh but my Ford ranger has had a transmission and turbo replaced in two years because it’s a bucket of shit. And you’re wrong about the batteries and hp. Sound like a whinging woman

Google Stark Varg if you haven't already.
@KTMsoldier19882 жыл бұрын
Gotta love how the Stark Bike comes out and they say its the fastest dirtbike ever and will beat any 4 stroke.....well no 💩. You designed a bike that puts out 30 more horsepower than any current dirtbike and then you call it a fair fight. Tesla did the same thing with their cybertruck pulling against a ford f 150...the cybertruck was AWD against a 2wd ford and the tesla weighs over 1000 lbs more and had super agressive tires meaning more traction, But they hyped it up as a fair competition to push electric sales.
@heltech95142 жыл бұрын
@@KTMsoldier1988 yeah you do have to love the Stark. It looks good and they're saying it's going to have the performance to match it. It has to beat the current performance of the 450's since that's what everyone will compare it to. But it has to be rideable power and it has to last more than a tank does now. If you're into racing then this sort of new development is a part of the competition of the race industry. Much like the YZF400 was 20-odd years ago.

@@heltech9514 I have and I dont believe the claims, the alta redshift claimed much higher performance than it actually did and the battery life was terrible compared to advertised, plus it was expensive

#1 complaint that is shutting down riding areas is noise!! Electric will be a game changer. Embrace the future Adam.
