Both amazing. I saw a movie called living with tigers in which two tigers were introduced to a controlled area in Africa and after a short period of time learned to hunt and kill with extreme efficiency. I highly recommend the movie and while I respect both animals I consider the tiger to be by far the more advanced of the two.

I love all big cats but the reality is that Tigers are generally, naturally bigger and stronger than Lions on average. There was a sub species of Lions called the Barbary Lion that was slightly larger than most Lions today and had an amazing mane that usually carried down through the male Lions underbelly. There supposedly are a few remaining descendants of the Barbary Lion scattered throughout the world but even those Lions didn't appear to be anywhere near the size of mostTigers.

Even though in nature these two beats would never meet, I 100% agree the tiger is physically stronger. But tbh lions roam in packs were tigers are mainly solitary animals. Some even have multiple males in a pride. So if their ever was a tiger vs lion situation I'm taking the lions they come with the sqaud. @Ryu Ken I'm a big cat expert and yes those two lions are lucky. One on one a Bengal tiger will win 75% of the time if both are adult Males. A Siberian tiger will win 80% of the time if both are adult Males. People always want lions to win so they will put tigers at a disadvantage like pitting a small female against a big Male lion or young Male tiger against a Male lion and sometimes they put tigers from the much smaller subspecies like a Sumatran or Indochinese species. You almost never see a fair fight. Like here that Male lion had no chance against that big Male tiger. Size and strength makes a big difference in the big cat world.

Yes a Lion is always ready to fight but thats because they have a different temperment from tigers. All big cats have varying temperaments and so on. There is no need to debate which is better. Siberians don't have shorter and thicker bodies compared to Bengals. It's the same in all 3 of these animals. Indeed.....I have the data to prove it. In some zoos....the lions are heavier. But it's hard to tell how big that lion is from that angle. You cannot judge strength by looking. The tigers don't appear more muscular. It's not even an accurate comparison.

Here what cats do, if these cats are in close proximity for a long time they get less aggressive because they are use to the other cats sent. The two tigers were in similar size and this pro tiger guy should know that tigresses are smaller. Perhaps the tigers were attracted by the lioness, the only female in the group?
