Hey mate, just wanted to say, from a fellow Hiker, I love watching your videos! You don’t waste words despite always berating yourself for talking; when I watch your videos, I’m interested in everything you’re calling out - like you’ve said before, it makes it feel like we’re with you on each adventure! I’m waiting on a full knee replacement at 45yrs of age, and I take enormous inspiration from your walks and routes. We use a lot of them to plan our own routes and some of the easier ones are still within my ability, so thank you! Keep up the good work, and hopefully I’ll see you on the fells one day. Be safe and stay happy! 🙏🏻😎

First of all, when you were talking about shoving your junk in our faces then showed the urinal in the toilets at Dodd Wood, I was thinking holy crap!!! 😂 As for Binsey and Dodd, you actually made my day! Did both of these amazing little summits in June and loved both, for the exact reason you did, those views! You really don't need to get high for fantastic views in the Lakes. As a fairly newbie to hiking, I've enjoyed the smaller Wainwright's to the bigger ones. So happy you're doing the Northern Fells now, feels like my territory finally 🙏

Binsey & Dodd, what a great combination and a great way to get back on the Wainwright's walks and to start Season 5. 👍 Now, I've been up and down Dodd on various routes but have never descended by the route you followed, well that's something else added to my Lakeland fells to-do list. Great way up Binsey too, only ever come down that way and on one memorable occasion 16 years ago with my Mam and daughter (she was 13 at the time) in the height of summer when the bracken was taller than my daughter! We still laugh about that walk to this day. 😆 ATB

HTW is back!! 😁 Yaay. It's been great seeing you doing the various Ways and long distance walks, but I enjoy these more than all the others! Lakeland is just such a special place and stirs up emotions others that few others can. Noticed the drone was back and the 360 views and identifying the peaks around you/us -- I'm really glad you included it this time and really really appreciate the extra effort, I think it just elevates the content to a different level. I know you've said it takes a lot more effort to do - so thank you (even if it was just a one off!) I wonder why AW did include Dodd as one of his 214 if he despised it so much - as he didn't have to?

After largely ignoring the northern arc of the Northern Fells for the past 45 years, I've been ticking them off this year. (They're far more of a challenge now that I'm approaching 70). 😥 Hope to do the Uldale Fells this week and lose my Binsey, Dodd and Sale Fell virginity on the shorter travelling days. Thanks for the video Glenn. It's wet my appetite for later this week.

Pity you went up Binsey from the East, as it's a far more pretty walk coming up from just North of Bewaldeth. As for coming off the nose of Dodd, I'm glad you enjoyed it because for me, it's without doubt the most hideous path I've ever been on in the Lakes. It's really steep and at first it's pleasant, then you hit the conifers! From then on it's really dark and the branches go down to knee level and swamp the path, tearing at your clothes and your face and it's very rooty and still really steep until you come out onto the forest paths. It seemed to go on forever and if I never go down there again, it'll be too soon.

Good to have these back! Re. the mentions of views of Pike of Stickle - we stayed in Bassenthwaite village last year and I was amazed to be able to see it from the garden, had to get the map out to prove to myself that there was a sightline. On the Dodd descent, if you drop off the summit the same way as you went up, but then turn right instead of left when you hit the main track, there’s a good path around the southern side of the summit which ends up where you came out, but without the off piste stuff! 👍

Sounds impressive when my wife and I mention we bumped into Chris Bonnington on a mountain a few years ago , when actually he was probably out for his afternoon stroll over Binsey that day ? It. was also our Grandson's first fell walk a year or so ago when he was five , well he ran much of the way up , ran round the top and ran down again . Living close to the Northern fells done Binsey several times , always think it affords a great remote view of the grander more famous Fells and as you showed the Solway .

Great to see you out and about in our area up north! You mentioned accessibility . There is a great bus 554 that goes from Carlise to Keswick and return. It stops at the Sawmill cafe ( for Dodd) and at Binsey. So there is the idea of parking at Keswick then using the bus... just a thought. There are a lot of Sitka Spruce on Dodd. But it is wonderful to have the summit clear. Binsey is great and lots of Bilberry bushes on there, too. Looking forward to part 2 already. Thank you
