Discovered your channel recently as I’m looking for a fun car and I was researching the SLK350. Your videos are excellent, especially your honestly and macho-free sections about track days. I’m interested in doing track days too but also nervous about the idea. You videos are making me feel better about getting started. I don’t think I’ve heard you mention how many miles were on the clock of your SLK when you bought it and I’m wondering if I could buy one with 60k on it and expect it to cope with track days. Keep up the excellent work!

I have an intro video showing the car after I purchased it and I covered lots of details about it. It had around 53K when I bought it and was in excellent condition as a one owner car. I was very lucky.

143.34 seconds or 1:43.34? a 2+ min lap of summit main is usually an outlap, unless you've got 50hp. get an OBDII dongle so you can get RPM/TPS/ABS data in TrackAddict, makes it much more useful. summit and dominion are my main tracks, let me know next time you're thinking of heading north

+Joshua Leung Rubenstein thanks for the catch! 1 min 43 was correct. I've been thinking of adding the OBDII plug in, thanks for the recommendation. I've noticed the phone GPS tends to lag and I get inaccurate real time MPH as a result. Figured the OBDII addition would clean that up. I'll definitely look you up next time I'm up at these two tracks. Dominion, I can tell, will be a fav of mine.

look into an external gps too, I use a 10hz BadElf and it's within a few hundredths of the official AMB transponders we use
