I'm pruning my Crown of Thorns bonsai (Euphorbia milii) to get more ramification and to refine the shape. This flowering bonsai grew incredible well over the last few years and I'm excited to see it develop into the future!
This species is native to Madagascar.
I've found some nice new bonsai pots and I'll be re potting my Aloe vera bonsai in Part 2.

The crown of thorns’ sap is somehow caustic and can really cause serious damage, specially to the eyes. Here in Brazil, a lot of hedges are made with this plant and sometimes it get rotten on top cuts, becoming hollow and soft. Eventually it breaks and dies, and needs to be replaced on the hedge. But as a bonsai, I am sure that you will baby it!

Really nice pots! Before bonsai was my obsession, pottery was. Not only are the great clay, but look at the glaze! No glaze on the feet (the feet are amazing as well), and no dripping of the glaze on the inside of the pots. Most of the stuff I can find looks like the first year students were given a few not-so-perfect pots and had a field day. These are wonderful!! Thrift store, here I come!!!! BTW, if you had turned our branch cutter with the point down, you would not have had such a difficult time getting the right angle for that big cut.

So nice quality pots for this low pricepoint. They don't even look used and seem to be new ones. You really had a lucky day! Love the crown of thorn flowering. It reminds me of my childhood when I had one of these plant. This actually makes me want to start one, too for the good old times. Just need to find a cutting. *radar on*
