Thanks for the vid. Just thought I'd recommend one other way. You can link your Google Photos to your Google Drive and that will create a "Google Photos" folder in Drive. If you have the "Google Backup & Sync" on your desktop, it will sync all your photo's to your desktop in a folders organized by Year then by Month. It won't include any of those system files either. It's all automatic. Enjoy!

Can you help me out with something . I have got the free 15gb of google photos . I want to move the photos that are on my google photos using my laptop , transfer the photos onto my 256gb external usb , put them into folders and then once there on the usb I then want to delete them from the google photos once I know that they are safely on my usb . Can you tell me how to do this step by step in as much detail as possible . I have tried to do this but i keep getting Zip files and the photos dont show up . do you know that eases way to do it is to go to google drive ----> chose folder google photos and ----> copy folders year by year ? and then one you have all you photos from google photos on your pc you can delate them if you need more storage on you google drive as Im running out and I have 100gb dont feel like buing any more 7 year of photos and videos 91gb ...
