Bhocha, Tibetan Butter Tea is often mistakenly called Yak Butter Tea. In this video, I will show you how to make this ancient Tibetan beverage both the traditional way as well as the contemporary way along with Bhocha cultural customs & traditions.

Traditional Bhocha Recipe:
Brick Tea: 3 to
Whole Milk:
Salt:
Butter
Water
Contemporary Bhocha Recipe:
Black Tea Bag
Whole Milk or Half & Half Milk
Salt
Butter
Water

Oh Dear Khy Khy la A warm thank You from the bottom of my heart for sharing this video Years ago I had a mongolian Ani staying in my flat with us & she offered first tibetan tea for us. It was just amaizing good.🥰🥰🥰 We all loved it. Tashi Delek once more now hope to do it on my own after Yor recepie🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

I was watching Mega Kitchen show on National Geographic and one show was mega kitchen during Kalchakra in Bodh Gaya in Bihar India and I saw this kind of tea being served. I googled it and found your recipe!! Thank you!! 🙏

In Bhutan we called SUJA ( butter tea ).. I love all your recipes.. you are amazing and fantastic cook 🤤😋

Thank you, my daughter and I really enjoyed watching. She said she likes watching when you pull the tea and the pouring sound. We were reading a book that mentions yak butter tea and wanted to learn about it!

I had a friend I was very close to for a short time. He was from Tibet and taught me some words and pieces of the culture, food was a big part of what he taught me. I miss him very much and this recipe makes me feel closer to him. Thank you 💕 ^^

I thoroughly enjoyed your video! Where do you get your tea cups (bowls) from? They are so beautiful! How much does a set like that cost?

Thank you so much 💛 The traditional Tibetan tea cups were a gift from my aunt. You can find them in Tibetan shops in Nepal and India. Not sure about the cost though ☺

If you're in US, there are some Tibetan shops in NEW York that ship them nationwide. Let me know if you're interested and I will find their social media page for you. Occasionally, I see them on Amazon too.
