I often go to Manticore bush. He was there from the beginning of the fight. When AMX went down, there are 2 rows of bushes, so they didn't spot each other.

Any time some one comments on how my Wn8 is 'lower', I tell them to learn what actually determines a good player, some one who tries to do their best for the team and team make up, or some one who sits as just stat pads. Personally I hate losing a battle, but, you can't always win, when I get a team that does everything they can TO lose, I get really annoyed. Most of those teams are players just sitting around trying to stat pad and stupid snipe.

Yep, you have to make sure that some team mates get in position & fire at the targets you light. Too often they don't. It's like playing party & nobody shoots the tanks that you stun. Then it's your fault when your team loses the battle

Claus, I know that this is a late post and might not be seen. Anyway, I fully agree with the WIN8 problem. It doesn't properly rate pub match play. As I recall WIN 6 thru 8 were primarily designed as recruit rating tools for Clans. They are intended to give the recruiter a gauge for what to expect from a potential recruit in Clan Wars, not pub matches. For Clan Wars WIN8 tells them what they need to know - does this payer pump out damage and finish what they start with a kill shot? They aren't too concerned during recruitment with spotting as a statistic because the new recruit isn't likely to instantly be given the recon role. That spot is earned. Clans fully appreciate what a good to excellent light driver can do for the team in Clan Wars - but that's not recruiting.

there are 2 aspects to spotting?: a) be in the right place to see the enemy and, more importantly, be in the right place that your side can hit what you spot. See so much suicide scouting done to get their medal but not actually help their team

When I used to play this game, (and I stopped after 3 years) I had my worst losing streak of 23 games but my average damage across those games was over 3K, my win rate in my last year was 38% does that make me a crap player?….it’s all meaningless bullshit stats that sad depressed players without a life chase to feel better about themselves.

An obvious bias, this WN*. Forcing the spending of credits on shells in the chase of a higher WN* rating is the War Gaming priority. It preys on the OCD in all of us, the gambling and winning bug, so to speak. Team play, such as spotting, is not rewarded, rendering the game more one dimensional and less strategic. GG's.

Thanks for putting together this awesome example of how the rating system is broken. I'm befuddled at times as the top player in a lost game with players who's stats are far superior to mine. And If I typically place at least 7th by experience in each match, why am I below 50%? I know how to play, I know how to contribute, I know how to spot those who are not contributing effectively, yet I suck according to paperwork? This is a good example of the bad math WG seems to be using these days. Another would be the Match-Maker.

I don't care about win8 but I wish the game rewarded a tank for playing its role well in xp received. A light tank should get more xp for 2000 spotting damage than for 2000 damage.

Had a guy say i was terrible . He had a 9600 rating . I have a 5300... but my wr overall is 54% his is 55%.. our max dmg done and all thise stats are near identical. So i honestly think these people with high ratings.. pad them somehow.. whats more important to me are the win rates

no one who follows wn8 wants to know how it works because it makes their heads hurt having to focus on more than one thing and use skill. I just returned to world of tanks (brother was in a bad spot, so we resurrected - briefly - our habit of wot n beer fro 5 ish years ago) and a guy made fun of me for having an abysmally low wn8 of like 300. I explained, wn8 goes down over time if you dont play. he did not believe me. OK sure, I ground out 20 tier Xs over 12 years but have a wn8 of 300, sure kid. It won't be long before sites like tomato gg and xvm are used to recruit bombers by telling them shoving explosives up their butt will increase their wn8

Theres a huge difference between console / pc play, you wouldnt hold that spotting position for longer than 5 seconds on console, most games are 5-6 minutes on a good day, most are 4 munutes, and 3 minute battles show up sometimes, definitely not the same game

It just goes to show that shitty players compare WN8 because they are clueless of how it works. Another group of clowns are those who compare win rates, too many times I have been stuck on teams where at least half the team is useless, causing a loss. I have always ignored WN8 and win rate, because they don't accurately take into account all of a players contributions, and I have seen games where an AFK player got more experience and WN8 than players actively trying to win the game. Comparing these stats to belittle other player just proves how shitty of a player you are!

WN8 is trash, and doesn't count spotting... and it only counts the highest score between spotting and assist. not both. Those who use Wn8 as a scale for good players, are almost as clueless as some of the muppets we see in this game. Best way to see if a player is any good, is to look at their average exp per battle. That will tell you a lot about how they play. No matter what they do, or what tank they play most. An average player like me would have somewhere between 600-800 average exp per battle. If a player had over 1k exp per battle...well that's pretty good.

That's why after 10 years I no longer play no one wants to win anymore everything is about trying to get marks and taking as few risks as possible myself I have always been willing to sacrifice my tank for that crucial spot on a light tank or stopping a flag cap exctera I also would actively try to defend team mates at great risk to myself but they won't do the same for me and then you have the stat whores who try and act like they are better than everyone else when they let multiple team mates die so they wouldn't get spotted and could run away to keep trying to get dmg for a mark
