Hi all! I am sorry about the sound quality in this video and my recent videos, AND probably in the next few videos as I recorded along the way. If I could go back and fix it I would and I will try to find other solutions in editing the next several videos. Then, videos I record going forward, I will use a different camera that lets add on an actual mic. Thank you for your encouragement, kindness, prayers and positive vibes! I am so grateful for you! Sending lots of love!!

Hello April,👋I am a 55 year old woman who had gastric bypass just over 14 years ago at the age of 41. I have watched your journey over the last couple of years and when I have seen your struggles, I have so hoped you would give weight loss surgery a try, and I am so happy you made the decision. For me it was the best thing I have ever done! It truly had nothing to do with "looking better"!!! My mom had a stroke at 62 and died in a nursing home at 67 because of obesity. I did not want that to be my story! I'm so incredibly happy for you and excited to watch your journey! Best of luck to you! You got this!!!💖

Had wls in 2016. I know you’re excited for a new phase of food but please focus on working on that head hunger and excitement for new food. Treasure the restriction you have now cuz you won’t ever have it this tight again. Don’t be in a rush for solid food

This is solid advice. No pun intended. I would want to go so very slow with reintroducing solid foods. I think I would definitely treasure the restriction and control. 💚

Yes. 5 years post op. Best thing my nurse told me when I was discharged was to get my head straight because the ghrelin producing part grows back and I’ll gain it all if I don’t work on it. And had a good four years. This year has been toooooouuuuuuuugh! I feel hungry like I did pre op and if I’m not careful, I will graze 3,000 calories a day. I still have restriction but the hunger and need to eat junk is intense. Definite mind game.

I’ve been here since I was introduced to you through the video with ObesetoBeast and have followed your journey ever since. Your optimism and realness keep me going! I’ve been going through a lot over the last couple years with a rough divorce, ADHD diagnosis with no treatment for almost a year (doc wanted me out of crisis mode of anxiety first) , and buying a house on my own. My weight is at the highest ever and I’m feeling so uncomfortable but struggling to get the scale to move. I know what I need to do but depression over life circumstances that are out of your control definitely can affect weight loss, even with effort! Thanks for coming back and sharing your journey with us- I’m always cheering you on! ❤

I'm so glad you did this April. I had RNY on March 13, 2023 and have lost 145 pounds. Better than weight loss my health has so improved. I loved the "no food noise", this does come back around a year out. Learn and practice all the great habits now when the noise is gone, so that you can continue to use them later when the noise (head hunger) is back.

I was on meloxicam for a little bit 15 yrs ago, as my inflammation was insane and was waiting to find cause . I ended up diagnosed with Thyriod issues (graves disease diffuse toxic doctors recommended reducing gluten Alongside with other meds and stuff. I eventually went gluten-free over 7 years and have been completely GF for 8 yrs now and I have no inflammation regularly and no thyroid issues even without medication. Food can make a huge difference. Not everyone will have gluten issue specifically but food can trigger that response (cealic runs in my family as does other gut issues).

Glp-1 will help you lose weight not fat. That means you lose lean muscle tissue, but if you go off Glp-1 you gain all the weight back, but NO lean muscle. Duodenal switch has many downsides, esp absorption issues. It is very dangerous, and people can have severe deficiencies from this surgery.

Well so far surgery is the only "permanent" option. While with GLP-1 agonists most people regain their weight after stopping

I am soooooo happy for you! It's crazy the pushback people get for taking Ozempic, if your body needs it to help with blood sugar and food addiction then who cares?? Fascinating that the surgery is helping with the way you think about food and eating. It's almost like you're getting a body "reset" after so much dieting and trying so hard. We could all use that. 🥰🥰 Thank you so much for sharing with us!

It's controversial because people take it as a lazy solution to lose weight, making it less availible for people who actually need it for medical reasons. It's disgusting that people with money can just buy their way to their dream body while essentially robbing those who have legitimate conditions and can't get/afford the medication they need.

@NN-uu6gj No, she just did the bariatric surgery and was worried about people judging her. I keep hearing similar stories about people taking ozempic and others judging them. It shouldn't matter to anyone how you lose weight, the internet can be an evil hateful place when you try to improve yourself.

One thought for you: don’t ever take two puddings right off the bat. Don’t take extra. Start with small portions. Take less than you think you will want so your eyes get used to seeing less and you don’t feel tempted to eat it all. Right now you cannot eat it all, but you will be able to do it if you aren’t careful with portions. You don’t need extra.

Idk if this will help but I battle depression and unmotivated feelings. I found that if I stop what I'm doing when I'm feeling that and change the pace and do something that makes me happy, my serotonin and dopamine will come back and help me get motivated again. ❤ maybe have a list of things you know give you instant happiness and find something on the list you can do. This has helped me a few times when I'm in a slump and just feel sad.... although I know sometimes the slump is just hitting really hard. Lol Also, I just cut out sweets and candy from my diet. I still eat bread and sometimes there's sugars in my savory foods. But I found that I binge on chocolates and cakes the most. Start small in your diet goals. And then once you accomplish these smaller restrictions, you can add bigger ones? Something like that lol. Good luck! I love you!!!! ❤

Love your vids! I am with you all the way and can’t wait to watch this new phase of your journey! Would you be able to explain in detail the difference between the different weight loss surgeries and why you chose this option vs the others! You are an inspiration April 🤩

When my son had bypass surgery, he got so tired of store bought broth. I made him homemade chicken broth. There's no comparison to the taste.
