“No words describe a mother’s tears No words can heal a broken heart” My brother Andrew committed suicide at age 18 last May. Lyrics like this didn’t really have a lot of meaning to me until then; I flew to Sacramento the day my other brother Daniel informed me of the tragedy. Upon arrival, I saw my mother, pale as a ghost and motionless as stone. I’ve had my share of grieving since then, but Phil Collins’ lyrics hit perfectly here. My mother’s tears couldn’t be described with words, my mother’s broken heart couldn’t be healed with words. “A dream is gone, but where there’s hope…” On the other side of adversity is a blessing of equal or greater magnitude. The dream of creating epic memories with Andrew and changing the world with him is gone, but that just means one door is closed and another opened. Seven months later and we’re already seeing some of that, there is no denying this tragedy has brought us all closer together as a family. I didn’t have a human-to-human relationship with Daniel nor my sister Abby until this; we just co-existed for their entire lives and hardly actually knew each other. When I visited them again for Christmas, my mother told me that she and I are the only two people Abby feels like she can have a conversation with. That’s pretty huge for me as an older brother. If that much blessing can be seen in just seven months, can you imagine what will happen in 40 years?
@darkcelta35923 жыл бұрын
Man I'm really sorry for your brother, I can't imagine the tears your mother was shedding at the funeral, it must not be easy for a mother/father to bury a son, when the usual is a son that buries his parents. The sad part is Andrew's death, but I'm glad that now you and your brothers are more united and take care of each other, and everyone are more united with your mother too, may time heal you and your family, and may Andrew rest in peace. Blessings will come to you, and more.

I feel you man! I was just on winter break,and a few days ago I met a boy while playing a game called rec room,and at first we were good friends,and I was fine with that,until one day,I began to develop romantic feelings for him,and at that very moment,I knew the truth,I was gay,and it took me a while to realize it,but when I did,I was absolutely shocked,horrified even,and so at first I kept to myself and barely told a soul,until one day,I just couldn't keep it secret,so, I told the closest people I knew...my parents,now my parents are...old fashioned,so I was afraid at what they'd think,I was worried they wouldn't see me as perfect anymore,but to my surprise,my confession was met with great affection,and surprisingly,they said they supported me,and to this day,they still do

At the beginning of the song, I like how the drums and whatnot start to crescendo and start to get more and more intense. And then, right at the peak, the drums are super intense, like some epic, tense Tribal music from an epic high-budget motion picture. Phil Collins did not have to go that hard, but he did it for us.

Man, the Phil Collins music in Tarzan, just... it just NAILS IT. Hits home. Is spot on. Fantastic. Every song is a masterpiece, I really like I could run as fast as I can to it. It is that rare kind of music that can make you feel closer to nature, yet completely human at the same time. That's really difficult to achieve in this time and age.

The day God spoke to me through the Holy Spirit I felt like this song connected me to him and how he helped me release years of pure unadulterated hate and anger but when I felt his spiritual loving arms surround me, I cried so hard that my father was shocked at me finally letting go of what happened to me in my past. This song also helped me survive through 7 years of child abuse and kept me connected to my dad from miles away in Escanaba Michigan and my dad was in Detroit Michigan and everytime my dad wished me happy birthday, I could feel his love in my darkest hours. His spiritual love as a father to me his one and only son was what kept me from turning into the joker back then in my darkest hours and from commiting Seppaku. Phil Collins and Disney was what kept me from letting my flames of life, of survival from going out to the day I was rescued and saved. Phil Collins, thank you for making songs like this that can spiritually save a person from madness and from their inner demons. This is me speaking from personal experience

i just had a medium reading today - didn't expect it - thought a psychic reading - i lost my father last year - under difficult circumstances - and the first thing she said to me on connecting was to play this song that he wanted to communicate with me. i've never heard it before and am sure he didnt/ he died 90 odd. but we fell out and this song summarises so much especially the mothers tears bit .... and to look up and look ahead... two worlds one family. oh mi im crying writing this as im just playing it for the first time... now. so many other things she told me that no stranger could ever know - even the poem i read for him in the funeral - I made up that she recounted first line of each verse - about looking for him in nature and so much else. astonishing. So touched.

I just saw the original Tarzan. Amazing movie, I really wish there were more like it. Disney is the best. Classic Disney that is... screw Hannah Montana and those Jonas brothers. Classic animation should always be remembered. Phil Collins' voice is really powerful. There's so much emotion in this song.
